Building civilized urban roads and streets

In early April 2025, Tuy Hoa City People's Committee issued Decision 1679 on criteria and procedures for recognition of civilized urban streets in Tuy Hoa City. From now on, the so-called civilized urban streets will be more professional and will become a positive factor supporting the process of completing civilized urban criteria.

According to Mr. Nguyen Khoa Khang, Head of the Economic , Infrastructure and Urban Department of Tuy Hoa City, there are currently 238 urban routes in the city with a total length of more than 200km. Of which, 60 routes are allowed to exploit part of the sidewalk for the purpose of small business and vehicle parking; 2 routes are exploited as walking streets. The city has not yet recognized any routes or streets as civilized urban routes. Based on Decision 1679, the unit will work with relevant agencies and units to review for recognition. Also according to the above decision, a route that meets the criteria of an urban civilized route must ensure 4 basic criteria including landscape architecture, technical infrastructure, environmental sanitation, urban order and traffic safety. There are 21 evaluation contents, each content will have a corresponding number of points. Any route that scores from 75-100 points will be recognized as a civilized urban route. After reviewing, up to now the city basically has about 10 routes that meet the criteria of civilized urban routes.

In Song Cau Town, the town's Fatherland Front is at the forefront of the campaign "All people unite to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas". Accordingly, in 2024, this unit has mobilized the construction of 28 illuminated roads, 78 civilized urban roads, 56 roads with no waste, no wastewater discharge, and 20 self-managed roads that are bright - green - clean - beautiful.

Some roads in Dong Hoa town are also marked with signs of urban civilized roads. A typical example is Nguyen Tat Thanh street. This is a spacious main road, with rows of purple Lagerstroemia trees on both sides. This place gathers many highlights such as the town's administrative center, July 1st Square, Truong Thinh park...

Currently, to ensure aesthetics and environmental sanitation, localities are stepping up the mobilization of people living on both sides of the road to sign a commitment not to encroach on sidewalks and roadsides, not to litter and collect construction materials, architectural objects and other objects; not to do business within unauthorized areas and hours...
