Xbox lets you invite friends to try Game Pass for free

According to VGC , Microsoft has recently launched the Xbox Game Pass refer-a-friend program. This program allows Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass members to invite up to 5 other people to join the free 14-day trial of PC Game Pass.

The condition for the free trial is that the invitee has never used the service before, players can send friends an invitation by clicking the 'Give PC Game Pass' button on the Game Pass service home screen.

As for why this offer is only available for PC Game Pass, the answer may lie in an interview with The Wall Street Journal last year from Microsoft Gaming chief Phil Spencer. Back in the fall of 2022, he said Game Pass was experiencing incredible growth on PC, as Xbox gaming slowed due to saturation. And he said that at some point, everyone would have easy access to Game Pass on PC.

The launch of the program comes after Microsoft discontinued its Game Pass introductory offer last month, requiring new users to pay $1 to try the service for a month.
