On May 28, according to the Duc Trong District Police ( Lam Dong ), the cause of the fire in the pickup truck with license plate 49C-312.42, which killed Ho Sy D. (born in 1977, residing in Lien Hiep Commune, Duc Trong District), was suicide.
According to the initial investigation, Mr. Ho Sy D. had a personal conflict with Ms. Ho Thi X. (born in 1983, D.'s sister-in-law). At noon on May 28, when he discovered Ms. X. attending a wedding at Thinh Phat restaurant (Tan Hoi commune, Duc Trong district), Mr. D. had the idea of using his car to hit Ms. X. to death and then commit suicide.
The pickup truck burned at the scene.
To carry out the above act, Mr. D. rented a pickup truck in Lien Nghia town, Duc Trong district, drove to buy 2 cans of gasoline and then went to find Ms. X. At that time, Ms. X. was in the same car with Mr. HND. (from the same Tan Hoi commune) to attend the wedding.
Arriving at Thinh Phat restaurant, seeing Ms. X. just getting out of the car, Ho Sy D. drove from behind, hitting her head-on, causing the victim to fly onto the hood of the car. At that moment, Ho Sy D. locked the door, poured gasoline, and used a lighter to set the car on fire to commit suicide.
As a result, Ho Sy D. died on the spot, the pickup truck burned down. Ho Thi X. was taken to Lam Dong General Hospital by local people in a state of emergency with multiple injuries.
Duc Trong District Police arrived at the scene, coordinated with Fire Fighting Team Area 2 (Fire Prevention and Fighting Police Department and Rescue of Lam Dong Provincial Police) to put out the fire; investigate and determine the cause of the incident.
The incident caused a stir among local residents, and the police quickly took action to initially clarify the cause. The police are currently continuing to investigate the incident.
