On the afternoon of May 27th, information from the Traffic Police Department of Dak Lak Provincial Police indicated that a sleeper bus caught fire in Ea Hiao commune, causing significant property damage.
According to initial information, at approximately 11:30 AM on the same day, a sleeper bus with license plate 43H-160.xx belonging to Hai Van bus company, operating the Dak Lak - Da Nang route, suddenly caught fire while undergoing repairs at a family garage in Ea Hiao commune.
The fire was determined to have originated in the front of the vehicle, then quickly spread and engulfed the entire car.
Upon discovering the incident, the car owner and nearby residents used mini fire extinguishers and water hoses to try to put out the fire, but without success because the flames spread too quickly.
Upon receiving the report, Fire and Rescue Police Force No. 7 quickly arrived at the scene and deployed firefighting efforts to prevent the fire from spreading to the surrounding area. However, due to the intensity of the fire, the vehicle was completely destroyed.
The fire caused no casualties, but the vehicle was severely damaged, with initial estimates of losses exceeding 100 million VND.
According to the vehicle owner, the vehicle had been out of service for the past two days due to a breakdown and was being repaired in the garage when the incident occurred. Police have arrived at the scene, conducted an examination, and are investigating to determine the cause of the fire.
