Ranking the top 50 prestigious and effective public companies in 2023

This is the third consecutive year that the Organizing Committee has announced the VIX50 Ranking - Top 50 prestigious and effective public companies to honor public companies that demonstrate superiority in financial and communication strength, with growth potential, sustainable development level, governance quality and solid position in the industry.

At the time of publication, the capitalization of the 50 public companies in the VIX50 list accounted for over 57% of the total market, with an average ROE of 21.1% in 2022. The average 5-year compound annual growth rate of revenue and profit was 14.1% and 26.3%, respectively.

In the list, there are 29 enterprises with capitalization of over one billion USD, 25 enterprises with revenue of over one billion USD and 43 enterprises with profit of over 1,000 billion VND.

In the current context, the slow growth rate of the economy and potential risks from new variables will continue to require proactively improving competitiveness and the ability to quickly take advantage of opportunities for business growth.

In particular, when the entire stock market enters a period of restoring confidence after previous violations, enhancing reputation and efficiency, creating a strong brand image and a well-implemented marketing strategy need to be focused on and increased further.

Therefore, Vietnam Report honors the Top 50 prestigious and effective public companies to honor public enterprises with a solid financial foundation, achieving remarkable achievements in providing products and services for customers and creating an impressive image in the eyes of the public and investors. The support and appreciation from the business community has helped VIX50 become a "launching pad" for classy assessments from investors, financial institutions and media units.

Within the framework of the event, the Organizing Committee also officially announced the Top 10 prestigious companies in the Banking - Insurance - Technology industry in 2023, honoring leading enterprises in the finance - technology sector, which are the solid pillars of the economy during the recent volatile period.

Top 10 prestigious companies in the Banking - Insurance - Technology industry is an annual ranking based on independent research and evaluation by Vietnam Report, periodically published annually on VietNamNet Newspaper.

The enterprises honored in this year's list are all representatives of effective operations, rich experience, position and prestige, and have made positive contributions to the overall development of the entire industry in particular and the Vietnamese economy in general in recent times.

According to a survey by Vietnam Report, banks do not expect breakthrough growth in the second half of 2023. The overall industry outlook is forecast to be stable, maintaining a growth rate (+44.2% and +42.0% compared to the survey results in 2022 and 2021).

The “headwinds” in the market have also had a strong impact on the insurance industry in recent times, especially the series of scandals related to the insurance distribution channel through banks (Bancassurance) that have reduced confidence in the life insurance market in particular and the insurance industry in general.

According to Vietnam Report's analysis of discussions related to insurance topics, negative customer sentiment accounted for only 2.2% in 2022, but reached 54% in 2023, an increase of 19 times.

However, from a positive perspective, this is also an opportunity for the whole industry to review and improve processes, distribution systems, and better serve customers; it is a good cleansing period for the market to rectify, perfect, develop transparently and sustainably to enhance the industry's credibility in the coming time.

Meanwhile, the information technology and telecommunications industry has made strong progress, continuing to be a bright spot in Vietnam's economy in 2022. However, from the end of 2022 to the beginning of 2023, businesses in the industry have been affected by weak demand due to the risk of a global economic recession and inflationary pressures.

To maintain growth in the current difficult context, businesses in the industry need to maintain their development goals and come up with balanced, comprehensive action strategies revolving around technology, process and human issues.
