However, one of the two monkeys followed and attacked people. Some people were even bitten by the monkey and bled. This raised concerns about the safety and hygiene of the Ba Chua temple area.

According to local people: “At first, everyone was excited to see monkeys, thinking they were gentle wild animals. But after having their food snatched a few times, many people began to feel annoyed and afraid of being scratched and bitten.”

Mr. Cao Van Thai (75 years old), group 4, area 1, Bach Dang ward, shared: I have been walking regularly to exercise on this route for many years now, monkeys appearing in urban areas is not rare. Previously, there were also cases of monkeys coming down to eat fruit in the area around the temple, but there were no attacks on people. For about 2 days now, when these 2 monkeys appeared, many people teased, filmed, and took pictures, so there were cases of being scratched and chased by monkeys.

Currently, the local government has coordinated with the City Forest Protection Department to capture the two monkeys and verify their origin; at the same time, research a plan to return them to a suitable natural habitat.
