On April 26, the Inspectorate of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health announced that it had just decided to fine many beauty salons, spas, and doctors who operated medical examination and treatment without a license or practice certificate.

Specifically, Ms. Le Thi Van (Owner of Le Van Spa Business, address 288/9 Nguyen Duy Duong, Ward 4, District 10 and 161/1A Vinh Vien, Ward 4, District 10) was fined 87 million VND; medical examination and treatment activities were suspended for 18 months and forced to return the illegal profits of 7 million VND obtained from committing the violation. The reason was providing medical examination and treatment services without a business license; medical examination and treatment without being granted a practice certificate.
Fined 1A Plus Beauty Salon Joint Stock Company (535 Nguyen Tri Phuong, Ward 8, District 10) VND 160 million, suspended operations for 18 months, forced to remove, dismantle, and delete advertisements without a license to operate medical examination and treatment. Reason: providing medical examination and treatment services without a license to operate; advertising medical examination and treatment services without a license to operate.
Fined Mr. Ho Phi Nhan (Natural Beauty Salon, 658 Le Hong Phong, Ward 10, District 10) VND 94.5 million for providing medical examination and treatment services without a business license; advertising medical examination and treatment services without a business license; Trading in goods of unknown origin (The shipment includes: 32 boxes of EPTQ Lidocain S100, 26 boxes of EPTQ Lidocain S500, 11 boxes of EPTQ Lidocain S300, 2 boxes of Stella Classic, 4 boxes of Elravie Premier, 3 boxes of Cefixim 200 mg, 50 tubes of Ligonospan, 19 boxes of Taxirid 1g, 4 bags of Metronidazol Kabi, 8 boxes of Alpha choay, 2 boxes of Toxta, 10 boxes of Solu Medrol, 2 boxes of Botutax 200, 1 box of Needles, 1 box of Needles, Syringes, 5 blisters of Paracetamol 500, 5 boxes of PT Needles, 3 bags of Test sample collection tools, 14 bags of medical gauze, 2 boxes of Redensity 1,2, 25 tubes of Dexamethasone with the value of the violating shipment of nearly 14 million VND.
The Health Department Inspectorate suspended the medical examination and treatment activities of the facility for 18 months; confiscated the violated exhibits; forced the return of illegal profits gained from the violation and forced the removal, dismantling and deletion of advertisements without a license to operate medical examination and treatment.
Fine Vu Lam Minh Company Limited (54B Nguyen Van Troi, Ward 15, Phu Nhuan District) for violating Americare clinic (54B + 54C Nguyen Van Troi, Ward 15, Phu Nhuan District) 193 million VND; revoke the right to use the medical examination and treatment license for 4 months; revoke the right to use the medical examination and treatment practice certificate of the person in charge of professional expertise of the facility for 3 months; force to remove, dismantle, delete advertisements without the competent state agency confirming the content before advertising.
Reason: The facility does not ensure one of the following conditions after being granted a license to operate a medical examination and treatment facility, except for the form of organization of a general clinic or hospital; provides medical examination and treatment services beyond the scope of expertise stated in the medical examination and treatment license, except in emergency cases; uses practitioners without a medical examination and treatment practice certificate; advertises special products, goods and services without having the content confirmed by a competent state agency before advertising as prescribed.
Also at this facility, the Health Department Inspectorate fined Ms. Nguyen Thi Le My (dermatology specialist) 7.5 million VND because she was the practitioner responsible for the technical expertise of the medical examination and treatment facility and was not present at the facility during the time the facility registered to operate without authorizing another person according to the provisions of law; revoked the right to use the medical examination and treatment practice certificate for 2 months.
To Nguyen Thai Vy, Dao Duc Minh, Nguyen The Thien, Nguyen Thi Trang (technicians) were each fined more than 35 million VND for providing medical examination and treatment without a practicing certificate and forced to return the illegal profits gained from the violation.
Fine Vo Au Phi Yen (General Practitioner) 35 million VND for medical examination and treatment beyond the scope of professional activities stated in the practice certificate and revoke the right to use the medical examination and treatment practice certificate for a period of 23 months.
