Coach Kim Sang-sik has announced the list of 11 starting players in the match between Vietnam and Singapore in the first leg of the AFF Cup 2024 semi-final, taking place at 8:00 p.m. on December 26.

The starting goalkeeper is Nguyen Dinh Trieu. After sharing the starting position with Nguyen Filip in the group stage (each goalkeeper played 2 matches), Dinh Trieu was given the trust in the match against Singapore. The Hai Phong goalkeeper is still highly appreciated for his ability to communicate and connect with his teammates in the defense.

"I am very happy to be here. The Vietnamese team is ready to fight to win against Singapore," coach Kim Sang-sik affirmed at the press conference before the match.

The Singapore team finished second in Group A with 7 points. Coach Tsutomu Ogura's team beat Cambodia (2-1) and Timor Leste (3-0), drew with Malaysia (0-0) and lost to Thailand (2-4). This is only the second time Singapore has reached the AFF Cup semi-finals in the past 12 years, but coach Kim Sang-sik is still cautious.

"Singapore is a strong team. My colleagues and I have watched their matches live on the field and on television. We have also dissected and analyzed Singapore through two meetings. The Vietnamese team is very strong, but we have focused on analyzing our opponents. However, Singapore will pay attention to our individual performances, instead of being distracted by Vietnam."
