Cracks appeared on the hill, urgent evacuation of people

(QNgTV)- On September 27, the People's Committee of Dak Plo commune, Quang Ngai province, urgently evacuated 12 households with 54 people in Róok Met village to a safe temporary shelter, after discovering a large crack on a hill near the residential area.

The crack appeared after heavy rains, located in the area where people grow cassava and coffee. The crack is 5-15 cm wide, about 50 cm deep, and nearly 200 m long.

Worryingly, small cracks have appeared behind many houses at the foot of the hill, posing a potential risk of landslides, directly threatening people's lives and property.

Immediately after inspecting the scene, the People's Committee of Dak Plo commune put up warning signs, advising people to limit travel to dangerous areas; at the same time, mobilized people to relocate and arrange temporary accommodation at communal houses, schools or mixed with other households.
