Compete to teach well, learn well

Le Hong Phong High School currently has 94 teachers directly teaching, organized into 10 professional groups. 100% of the staff, teachers and employees meet the standards, of which 18 teachers are above the standards, accounting for more than 17%.

During the 2022-2023 and 2023-2024 school years, the entire school has demonstrated and registered to teach more than 400 lessons. During these two school years, the school organized three school-level teaching conferences to celebrate Vietnamese Teachers' Day (November 20) and the founding day of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (March 26). At the end of the teaching conferences, 16 lessons were rated as excellent and were awarded by the school.

The school's excellent student training work has continuously achieved many high achievements. In the 2022-2023 school year, the whole school won 75 prizes in the first round, 16 students were selected to compete in the second round and won 3 second prizes, 5 third prizes; in the 2023-2024 school year, 92 students won excellent students at the provincial level, 16 students entered the second round, 1 student won third prize at the national level.

Also in these 2 school years, participating in science and technology competitions, the school won 4 provincial prizes. Notably, in the 2023-2024 school year, at the Road to Olympia competition, the school had 1 student win first prize in the quarter round and enter the final round.

Thanks to promoting competition in teaching and learning, the school always achieves a 100% pass rate in the annual high school graduation exam, and the exam scores for all subjects are above the average of the province.

At the same time, the movement of scientific research, writing of experience initiatives and making teaching aids among the teaching staff continues to be encouraged and motivated in a timely manner. During these school years, the whole school has had 32 topics and initiatives on experience in teaching recognized at the industry and school levels; in the 2022-2023 school year, there was 1 initiative topic recognized by the initiative council of the Ministry of Education and Training .

Promote union activities

The Executive Committee of Le Hong Phong High School's Trade Union has 7 members. Right from the beginning of the school year, the Executive Committee has directed the trade union groups to coordinate with the professional organizations to launch and effectively implement patriotic emulation movements.

The movements of Good at school, good at home; Building friendly schools, active students; Building cultural life in schools, cultural teachers' families, happy schools; Each teacher is an example of self-study and creativity; Each cadre and teacher sponsors a student at risk of dropping out of school due to difficult family circumstances or poor academic performance... have received positive responses from union members.

In competitions organized by the province such as Phu Yen Province Reading Culture Ambassador 2023; School Sports; Learning about online traffic safety laws; Green Environment; Learning about drug prevention and control; Program of 1 million initiatives to overcome difficulties..., the school has won dozens of high prizes and many medals of all kinds.

According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Huyen, in addition to coordinating with school leaders to promote emulation movements for good teaching and good learning, competitions, the union strives to create useful playgrounds, such as badminton, table tennis, soccer, and men's and women's volleyball competitions; thereby helping union members improve their health and physical fitness.

Executive committee members are always the mainstay in activities such as participating in the 2023 contest for skillful mass mobilization cadres, the writing contest on Good People and Good Deeds launched by Tay Hoa district, participating in online cooking competitions, etc.

On the other hand, the school always focuses on propaganda and mobilization work. The school's trade union regularly propagates and mobilizes teachers and workers to self-study and self-train to improve their professional ethics and professional qualifications. Thanks to that, the awareness and actions of teachers have many positive changes, teachers promote the spirit of self-study to improve their qualifications; there is no situation of illegal extra teaching and extra learning.

Effective with social charity work

Besides taking good care of the lives of cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers in the unit, for many years, the Trade Union of Le Hong Phong High School has had many effective activities in social charity work.

Pham Thi Quynh Nhu, a student in class 11A3, is from a near-poor household. Since grade 10, she has been sponsored by her homeroom teacher, helping her to excel in her studies and win third prize in the provincial History competition. Sharing about this, Quynh Nhu emotionally said: “Many times I wanted to quit school because of my difficult family situation, but with the encouragement, motivation, and wholehearted help of my homeroom teacher, I continued to go to school. I try to study hard to not disappoint the affection of the leaders and teachers.”

Implementing the campaign "Each staff member and teacher sponsors a student at risk of dropping out of school due to difficult family circumstances or poor academic performance", in the 2023-2024 school year, the whole school has 10 students supported with a total amount of 18 million VND/school year. Also in this school year, the school staff and teachers contributed nearly 176 million VND to organize gift giving and scholarships for students from poor and near-poor households, students with excellent achievements in studying and movement activities...

According to the Provincial Education Trade Union, thanks to promoting patriotic emulation movements and campaigns, Le Hong Phong High School has achieved many achievements in teaching and learning as well as trade union activities. For many years, this unit has been awarded many certificates of merit, certificates of merit and excellent emulation flags by authorities and trade unions at all levels.

Implementing the Tet movement for the poor and Agent Orange victims, the union coordinated with the school, Phu Yen Alumni Association, Parents Association and mobilized staff, teachers and benefactors to organize the annual Tet Charity program, giving hundreds of gifts to students in especially difficult circumstances on the occasion of Tet.

For many years, the union has mobilized cadres, teachers and employees to contribute to charity activities and show gratitude. The school has taken care of Vietnamese Heroic Mother Nguyen Thi Can (Hoa My Dong commune), and at the same time assigned cadres, teachers and students to visit and encourage her health regularly.

In addition, the school visited and gave gifts to 15 policy families in Hoa Dong commune, Phu Thu town, each gift worth 500,000 VND; helped poor students in Hoa My Tay commune (Tay Hoa district) according to Plan 83 of Tay Hoa District Party Committee on supporting disadvantaged villages and hamlets.
