Despite many difficulties, with the revolutionary tradition of overcoming difficulties, over the past 20 years, under the roof of Phan Viet Thong High School (Cai Lay district, Tien Giang province), generations of teachers and students have continuously innovated and improved the quality of teaching and learning.
Phan Viet Thong High School was established and put into operation on the basis of separation from Doc Binh Kieu High School on September 5, 2003. Recalling the early days of its establishment, Mr. Nguyen Chi Tam, Principal of the school, said that when it first started operating, the school encountered many difficulties, with poor facilities and lack of equipment. The school's teaching staff at that time was only 31 people. Despite the difficulties, in the first school year 2003 - 2004, the school still tried to establish organizations such as: Party cell, Trade Union, Youth Union, Parents' Representative Board, and Education Promotion Association. In the following school years, the school's facilities and equipment were gradually repaired and supplemented. In addition to the close attention of Party committees at all levels, the Departmentof Education and Training (GD-DT), local authorities, teachers and students of the school have made efforts and strived to overcome all difficulties to compete in teaching well and studying well.

After 20 years of construction and development, Phan Viet Thong High School has grown in many aspects. In terms of facilities, from having only 2 rows of rooms at the beginning, the school's facilities are now spacious, basically completed in a modern direction with 3 rows of rooms and almost all construction items such as classrooms, administrative blocks, learning service blocks, playgrounds, and parking lots to serve teaching and learning.
On the morning of July 24, Phan Viet Thong High School held a ceremony to celebrate the school's 20th anniversary. Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training of Tien Giang province Vo Van Hieu praised and congratulated the achievements that teachers and students of Phan Viet Thong High School have achieved over the past 20 years. At the same time, the school's teaching staff is required to continue to build a team of teachers who love their profession and are truly good at professional expertise; be proactive and creative in organizing educational activities; constantly improve the quality of comprehensive education, especially strengthening moral education, life skills, and life values; do a good job of consulting, mobilizing all resources, and continuing to invest in building school facilities in the direction of standardization and modernization... |
Over the years, the school's teaching staff has always closely followed and strictly implemented the direction of the education and training sector on implementing the key tasks of each school year. The school has done a good job of promoting the study and following of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle and the campaigns and emulation movements of the education and training sector associated with the theme of each school year.

The school has overcome the most difficult aspect, which is the relatively low input quality, with solutions such as: Continuously improving the quality of comprehensive education for students; innovating teaching content and methods, especially implementing the 2018 General Education Program; effectively implementing active teaching topics; focusing on the use of teaching equipment; improving the assessment, scoring and classification of students... Since then, the school's educational quality has been gradually affirmed. The school's annual high school graduation rate has been stable and reached 100% for many consecutive years.
After 20 years of construction and development, Phan Viet Thong High School has made great strides, reaping encouraging achievements. The school was awarded the Third Class Emulation Flag by the Provincial People's Committee for the 2012-2013 school year, the Second Class Emulation Flag for the 2015-2016 school year; the Ministry of Education and Training awarded the Flag to the leading unit in the emulation movement in the 2015-2016 school year. The school was recognized for achieving the following titles: Green - clean - beautiful; no drugs; safe in terms of security and order. In the 2019-2020 school year, the school was assessed by the Department of Education and Training for Level 2 Education Quality Assessment and was recognized by the Provincial People's Committee as having achieved National Standards Level 1.
Mr. Nguyen Chi Tam said that in the coming time, the school's educational mission is still heavy, overcoming current challenges and difficulties to have confidence to move forward.
