Mr. Vi Van Luong's family in Dong Thanh commune owns more than ten acres of rice fields. Taking advantage of the favorable weather, from the morning of the third day of Tet (Lunar New Year), his family focused on completing the spring planting. Mr. Luong shared: "Taking advantage of the warm, sunny weather, my family went to the fields to plant according to the schedule. Sowing, preparing the land, and irrigating were all done before Tet. For the past few years, our households have followed the planting schedule disseminated by the commune's agricultural extension team. Thanks to that, the care, pest control, and harvesting have been very effective."

Farmers in Dao Xa commune are focusing on completing the planting of late spring tea during the Lunar New Year holiday.

According to the plan, this spring, the entire province will plant approximately 80,250 hectares of rice. Besides rice, the province also plans to plant about 22,600 hectares of corn, 12,600 hectares of various green vegetables, 5,300 hectares of peanuts, 1,680 hectares of sweet potatoes, and some other crops.

In the early days of the new spring, cooperatives and villages growing safe vegetables are still actively harvesting and processing green vegetables to ensure the supply of orders to partners. Mr. Nguyen Van Nghia - Director of Tu Xa Safe Vegetable Cooperative said: "Currently, the stockpiling of food and green vegetables for Tet has significantly decreased. Consumer demand is for fresh produce, so from the afternoon of the first day of Tet, we have been harvesting, packaging, and delivering goods to supermarkets according to contracts. All members of the cooperative agree that even while celebrating Tet, we must still ensure production and maintain our reputation with customers... For the first orders of the new year, we check everything very carefully with the hope that agricultural production and consumption throughout the year will be smooth."

To ensure a successful spring crop, the Department of Agriculture and Environment has issued a document requesting localities to disseminate and provide technical guidance on caring for the already transplanted rice fields. This includes focusing on maintaining a water level of 2-3cm in the fields to create favorable conditions for rice plant growth and development; guiding farmers to carry out thinning and replanting to ensure proper density; and applying the first round of fertilizer to the rice plants that have recovered their green color...

For sown rice seedlings, ensure 100% of the area is covered with plastic sheeting, supplement with well-rotted manure, phosphorus fertilizer, and wood ash, maintain sufficient water to protect seedlings from the cold, and absolutely do not apply nitrogen fertilizer to the seedlings. On warm days, instruct farmers to open the plastic sheeting at both ends of the seedling beds; in the evening when the temperature drops, cover the seedlings with plastic sheeting again to keep them warm; 3-4 days before transplanting, remove all plastic sheeting to harden the seedlings... Closely monitor weather forecasts and warnings to prevent natural disasters and take timely remedial measures.

Comrade Nguyen Van Quan - Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment emphasized: The spring crop is the main crop with the potential for high yields and will determine the growth rate of the agricultural sector in 2026. Therefore, the entire sector will focus intensely on directing and managing to achieve success, especially in the context of unpredictable climate and weather changes. The sector will also continue to promote diversified agricultural production with many characteristic products that have advantages, build large-scale agricultural production organizations, and link commodity production. It will apply scientific and technological advancements and new technologies to enhance the value, efficiency, and competitiveness of products. It will continue to effectively implement policies supporting production and encouraging agricultural and rural development in the province to create conditions for people to alleviate difficulties and boost production...
