Special art program to celebrate the 325th anniversary of the formation of Saigon - Cho Lon - Gia Dinh - Ho Chi Minh City (1698-2023), the 47th anniversary of the day Saigon - Gia Dinh City was officially honored to be named after President Ho Chi Minh (July 2, 1976 - July 2, 2023) with the theme: "Shining City" took place on the evening of July 2 at 23-9 Park (HCMC).
The special art program is organized by the Organizing Committee of Major Holidays of Ho Chi Minh City; performed by the City Light Music Center with the direction of director Duong Thao.
Being named after the beloved leader of the nation is a great honor for the city. This is both a recognition of the indomitable and loyal spirit of the people and soldiers of the South who fought for the Fatherland, and an encouragement for the city's government and people to strive and make efforts to lead in the country's construction, economic development, and building a new life.
The art program "Shining City" consists of 3 chapters. In which, chapter 1 with the theme "City at Dawn" recreates a city firmly on the path of innovation, overcoming many hardships and challenges, the Party Committee - Government and people of the city always feel proud and strive to live, work and contribute to be worthy of being the city named after beloved Uncle Ho.
Performance in the program
Chapter 2 "Colors of the city I love" mentions the development path of the city that has gone through like streams, overcoming rapids, carrying fertile alluvium to build up the banks, creating a fertile land.
Through hundreds of years of historical ups and downs, Ho Chi Minh City has always been a place where cultural quintessence and talent and enthusiasm of people from all over the world gather here, ready to contribute and join hands to build the city.
The diversity on the basis of the very unique identity of a dynamic, creative, and affectionate land helps Ho Chi Minh City become more and more stable, develop towards deep and wide integration in the region and reach out to the world . Proud of the city I love depicts the image of Ho Chi Minh City as a livable, civilized, modern, affectionate place and future development orientations.
Performance in the program
The program ended with chapter 3 "The city shines in Uncle Ho's name" as a message that Ho Chi Minh City is not only looking for a suitable economic development path, but also making an important contribution to creating the premise for the country's innovation process in the future.
All of those meanings and messages are painted with music. When music and drama are used as a means of storytelling, connecting the viewer’s emotions with the historical and developmental stages of the country in general and Ho Chi Minh City in particular, it creates a beautiful picture and a poetic story.
The resonance of music and illustrations carefully selected by the organizers to be included in the program creates a catalyst for the viewer's emotions to be further sublimated.
