The first Party cell in An Giang
According to the History of the Party Committee of Cho Moi Province and District, in the second half of the 20th century, with the active activities of leader Nguyen Ai Quoc and the Vietnam Revolutionary Youth League (a transitional organization for the establishment of communist organizations in Vietnam) in propagating Marxism-Leninism into the Vietnamese patriotic movement, it fundamentally changed the nature of the struggle of the Vietnamese people against colonialism and feudalism. The proletarian revolutionary tendency developed strongly, played a core role, and became the mainstream in the struggle for national liberation.
At the end of 1927, the first Vietnam Revolutionary Youth Association cell in Long Xuyen, Chau Doc was established in Long Dien, now Long Dien A commune (Cho Moi district). This was an important turning point, marking the process of the people of Cho Moi district and the entire Long Xuyen - Chau Doc region having a revolutionary organization with a national salvation path and fighting methods suitable to the historical requirements at that time.

After the conference to merge communist organizations into the Communist Party of Vietnam, in March 1930, the Special Committee of the Annam Communist Party in Hau Giang region was transformed into the Special Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, sending cadres to the provinces to build the Party organization. At the end of March 1930, the Provisional Executive Committee of Long Xuyen province was established, with the policy of choosing Cho Moi as the center for developing the Party organization.
In early April 1930, the first Communist Party cell in Long Xuyen, Chau Doc was established in Long Dien (Cho Moi) with 3 party members: Luu Kim Phong, Bui Trung Pham, and Doan Thanh Thuy. To celebrate this important event, the cell sent Le Van Do, a loyal mass person, to hang the Party flag on the Long Dien Steel Wire Pole, now in Long Dinh Hamlet (Long Dien A Commune, Cho Moi District). From here, Cho Moi became the "revolutionary cradle" of the Long Xuyen - Chau Doc region. From the Long Dien cell, revolutionary seeds were spread everywhere, and by the end of April 1930, many Party cells in Long Xuyen and Chau Doc were established one after another.

Towards this important anniversary and to make achievements to celebrate the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam and the first Communist Party cell in An Giang, many meaningful activities have been organized throughout the province and Cho Moi district. The Resolution of the 11th Provincial Party Congress and the Resolution of the 12th Cho Moi District Party Committee have been well implemented. Patriotic emulation movements have been carried out, internal resources have been promoted, all potentials and strengths have been exploited; difficulties have been actively overcome, production and business have been stabilized, urban construction and beautification have been carried out; social security has been ensured, political stability, social order and safety have been maintained; and new positions and forces have been created to successfully carry out political tasks.
Secretary of Cho Moi District Party Committee Nguyen Thi Minh Kieu said that history has given Cho Moi hometown the role of "revolutionary cradle" of the Long Xuyen - Chau Doc region. Since the Party was established, the outstanding children of Ong Chuong islet - Cho Moi joined the Party's ranks and brought the revolutionary light of the Party to inspire, enlighten, and lead the people in the struggle to overthrow the colonial and feudal domination, rise to the position of homeland masters, and decide their own destiny. Leading the people to glorious victories in the two resistance wars against the French and American invaders, liberating the homeland, contributing worthily with the whole province and the whole country to fully carry out the people's national democratic revolution, liberating the South, and unifying the Fatherland.
During the period of building and defending the Fatherland, especially in nearly 40 years of implementing the renovation policy initiated and led by the Party, the Party Committee, government and people of Cho Moi district continued to establish many new achievements, rising up with internal strength, affirming the position of a unit with rich traditions in the province, heroic in struggle, heroic in labor, and was awarded 2 Hero titles.
