Nurse at Tan Hiep Checkpoint

With the sense of responsibility of a military medic, militiaman Le Hoang Loi is not afraid of hardship, sticking to his posts and areas, contributing to maintaining security, order and taking care of the health of his comrades and people at the border.

Having just completed a patrol along the border with his teammates, receiving an assignment from the commander of the checkpoint, militiaman Le Hoang Loi hurriedly carried a medical bag to a nearby household to examine an old man with a fever. With the sense of responsibility of a medical soldier, militiaman Le Hoang Loi, Tan Hiep checkpoint (Thanh Hoa district, Long An province) did not hesitate to work hard, staying at the checkpoint and the area, contributing to maintaining security, order and taking care of the health of his teammates and people at the border.

Militiaman Le Hoang Loi, Tan Hiep Post (Thanh Hoa District) wholeheartedly examined and treated people.

21 years old, 2 years in the army, 1 year in the Party, militiaman Le Hoang Loi always completes assigned tasks well, creating trust with superiors and affection with the people here. Loi has just graduated from the Military Medical Staff Course, Logistics College 2, General Department of Logistics with a good degree.

Militiaman Le Hoang Loi shared: “The lives of the people here are still difficult, so I help them in any way I can. I go to their homes to measure their blood pressure and give medicine to people with common colds and diarrhea; and provide first aid to those who have had traffic accidents while patrolling in front of the checkpoint gate. As for my teammates, I take good care of them so they can have good health to study, work, and train.”

Nurse Le Hoang Loi also actively promotes people to eat cooked food, drink boiled water , and clean their homes to prevent disease. Every year, he participates in propaganda for military recruitment, preliminary health examinations for recruited youth, etc.

Mr. Nguyen Van Nam (Tan Hiep commune, Thanh Hoa district) said: “There is a nurse at Tan Hiep checkpoint, so it is convenient. Whenever someone in the family has a stomachache, headache, or indigestion, they come to the checkpoint for nurse Loi to examine and give them medicine. When the illness gets worse, nurse Loi guides them to a higher level for treatment. People here are very excited that the checkpoint has a military medic.”

The vegetable garden and herbal medicine garden of Tan Hiep outpost are lush thanks to the care of militiaman Le Hoang Loi and his comrades.

Not only dedicated and responsible for his nursing career, militiaman Le Hoang Loi is also active in patrols, fully participating in training sessions and combat readiness training . Tan Hiep Post Commander - Duong Quoc Viet commented: “Comrade Loi has completed the assigned tasks well, has the will, responsibility, is sociable with his teammates, and actively carries out the activities of the post and the Commune Military Youth Union. Since his superiors sent him to attend a nursing course, he has taken good care of the health of the officers and soldiers at the post as well as the surrounding people. The post's vegetable garden and traditional medicine garden with many types are always green and lush thanks to Comrade Loi's care."

In particular, people from Chanh Tria commune, Chanh Tria district, Svay Rieng province, Kingdom of Cambodia who farm along the border often go to the checkpoint to ask for medicine when they have headaches or stomachaches. Nurse Loi always enthusiastically visits them, examines them and carefully instructs them on how to take each type of medicine.

With basic knowledge of medicine, hygiene, epidemic prevention, emergency techniques, and patient care, "square star" Le Hoang Loi fulfills his responsibilities as a nurse well. That is also the result and significance of the model of training military medical staff for regular militia in Military Region 7 , contributing to building a network of military and civilian medical staff at the grassroots level and improving the quality of life of people in border areas./.
