>> Yen Bai has 282 OCOP products
>> Yen Bai develops brand and consumes OCOP products
>> OCOP "gives wings" to Yen Bai agricultural products
Currently, the province has 273 certified OCOP products. Of these, 25 products have 4 stars and 248 products have 3 stars. The province's OCOP products belong to the following product groups: food industry 205 products; handicraft and decoration industry 15 products; herbal industry 21 products; beverage industry 14 products; rural tourism and sales services industry 17 products...
The products are very rich and diverse, but the OCOP development process still faces many challenges. One of the core problems is that product quality is not uniform, the production process is not really standardized, and especially the work of building, managing and developing brands still has many difficulties; many OCOP products are still spontaneous, fragmented, and lack sustainable value chain linkage, leading to low competitiveness in the market...
A brand is not just a name, logo or product packaging, but also a combination of quality, reputation, story and value that the product brings to consumers. For OCOP, the brand is also the pride of the locality, representing the cultural identity and the quintessence of natural products. Therefore, strict management of the OCOP brand development process plays a very important role, decisive to the success and sustainability of the program.
First of all, strict management helps ensure product quality and reputation. When a brand is built on a foundation of quality and strict control processes, consumers will have more confidence in the product. This requires provincial authorities to issue and enforce clear quality standards, safe production processes, and transparent traceability.
OCOP products must be evaluated and classified fairly and objectively, avoiding the situation of chasing quantity while ignoring quality. Strengthening management also contributes to fighting against counterfeit and fake goods, protecting the rights of manufacturers and consumers.
Counterfeiting and imitation of OCOP products have appeared in some localities, causing serious damage to the reputation of the brand and the trust of consumers. Therefore, it is necessary to strengthen market inspection and supervision, strictly handle intellectual property violations, and support OCOP entities in registering for trademark protection, barcodes, and anti-counterfeit stamps.
On the other hand, strict management helps create consistency and strong brand recognition. Many OCOP products in Yen Bai currently lack consistency in design, packaging, and labels. This reduces brand recognition and makes it difficult to promote and market. The province needs to have a common direction on design, packaging, and brand stories for OCOP products, while encouraging investors to build professional brand identities to promote value chain linkages and sustainable development.
Mr. Nguyen Dinh Chien - Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade affirmed: "The OCOP program has been opening up great opportunities for Yen Bai's rural economy . However, in order for these opportunities to truly become reality and bring sustainable value, strict management of the OCOP brand development process is an urgent requirement. From perfecting the legal framework, improving capacity for the subject, to quality control and promoting trade promotion, each solution needs to be implemented synchronously and drastically. The Department of Industry and Trade will continue to advise and propose to the province effective solutions to increasingly improve the quality of OCOP products"...
Building a strong OCOP ecosystem, taking quality and reputation as the foundation, protecting and sustainably developing the brand is the solution to help the province's OCOP products reach far and dominate the market. This is not only the responsibility of the authorities at all levels, but also requires the cooperation of the community, businesses and the whole society.
