Identifying the management, protection and prevention of forest fires as the key tasks, Yen Bai province always pays attention to directing and implementing this content well. The locality has established and maintained the operation of the Steering Committee for the Sustainable Forestry Development Program, thereby developing plans, issuing documents directing implementation, building command schedules, inspection and handling regimes, and organizing coordinated forest fire prevention and fighting drills. Maintaining and consolidating 916 forest fire fighting teams and groups with over 6,000 people in communes, wards and forest owners participating.

According to records in Tram Tau district, Yen Bai province, the district currently has over 45,850 hectares of forest, including 35,500 hectares of natural forest and over 10,370 hectares of planted forest, with a forest coverage rate of over 61%. With a large forest area, mainly upstream protection forests and a locality with a large concentration of ethnic minorities, the work of forest management, protection and development, especially forest fire prevention and control, has always been directed and implemented by local authorities at all levels.
From the beginning of 2024, Tram Tau district has completed the Steering Committee of the Sustainable Forestry Development Program, period 2021 - 2025 with 29 members; built a duty schedule and assigned specific tasks to each member of the Steering Committee; adjusted and supplemented the forest protection, forest fire prevention and fighting plan of the District Steering Committee in accordance with the actual situation in the locality.
The District Steering Committee has reviewed and counted the fields near the forest of households that are producing and are at risk of spreading fire into the forest, to organize instructions for people to burn fields in accordance with regulations and technical procedures. During hot weather, local forest rangers organize 24/7 duty and proactively advise communes to regularly patrol and guard forest areas at high risk of fire, to promptly detect and organize forces to quickly and effectively extinguish forest fires.
Tram Tau district has completed 12 Steering Committees for the implementation of the sustainable forestry development program for the period 2021 - 2025 at the commune level; Protective Forest Management Board with 311 members. Established 12 mobile forest protection - PCCCR teams in 12 communes and towns. In the villages, plans have also been developed and 55 forest protection and PCCCR teams have been established with a total of over 500 people.

Therefore, the forest has become an indispensable part of my life. In addition to doing a good job as a forest ranger, I also regularly mobilize and propagate to the people, to raise awareness in the work of forest management, protection and fire prevention.
Discussing this issue, Mr. Lai Van Quang, Deputy Director of Tram Tau Protective Forest Management Board, informed: Under the direction of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Yen Bai province and especially the Standing Committee of the District Party Committee and the People's Committee of Tram Tau district, the Forest Management Board has developed and implemented plans to protect forests and prevent forest fires in the entire forest area assigned to the unit.
At the same time, the Management Board also coordinated with local Party committees and authorities of communes to propagate and do a good job of forest protection and forest fire prevention at the grassroots level. The unit, together with Tram Tau Forest Protection Department, Nghia Lo District and local authorities, propagated and mobilized people to sign a commitment to protect forests and prevent and fight forest fires. At the same time, regularly sent officials and workers to each facility to coordinate with local forest rangers and forest owners to be on duty in key forest areas with high risk of forest fires, to be ready to handle incidents.
Thus, through the synchronous implementation of solutions, the tasks of forest management, protection and fire prevention and fighting are being well maintained by Yen Bai province. Thereby, contributing to preventing and minimizing damage caused by forest fires.
