The Department of Radio, Television and Electronic Information, Ministry of Information and Communications has worked with Google and requested to quickly fix the problem of not displaying the image of the Vietnamese flag on Truong Sa island.
On the afternoon of July 11, a representative of the Department of Radio, Television and Electronic Information said that regarding the fact that Google's satellite map does not display the image of the Vietnamese national flag on Truong Sa Lon Island, the Department of Radio, Television and Electronic Information, Ministry of Information and Communications, has recently worked with Google on this issue. According to Google's response, Google does not blur or change satellite images provided by third parties. The problem related to the displayed image is due to poor image quality and Google is taking the necessary steps to replace it with a better quality image. Based on Google's response, the Department of Radio, Television and Electronic Information has requested Google to promptly fix the problem.
Previously, a social network user discovered that Google satellite images did not show the Vietnamese national flag made of ceramic on Truong Sa Lon Island. When shared, this information created a wave of indignation among social network users. This is a ceramic painting of the Vietnamese flag with a record size (12.4m x 25m) of 310m2 on the roof of the hall building of Truong Sa Lon Island, which was constructed since 2012. This is the idea of artist Nguyen Thu Thuy, author of the work Vietnam Ceramic Road, which has been recognized as a world record. Following the idea of artist Nguyen Thu Thuy, Tan Ha Noi Art Company and Truong Sa Town People's Committee have coordinated to install ceramics on the Red Flag with Yellow Star on the surface of the island so that from the air (from satellites, Google Earth or airplanes), everyone can take pictures or see the bright red Vietnamese national flag made of ceramic on the green background of Truong Sa Lon Island and the blue water of the East Sea.
As of 3:18 p.m. on July 11, images on Google Maps still did not show the Vietnamese national flag on Truong Sa island. |
