A resident of Kon Tum was hospitalized after being struck by lightning.

(PLVN) - The People's Committee of Dak Sao commune (Tu Mo Rong district, Kon Tum province) visited and provided support to the family of Mr. A Lang, who was injured by a lightning strike. The victim's health is now stable.

On April 17th, the People's Committee of Dak Sao commune announced that the local authorities had visited, encouraged, and provided support to the family of Mr. A Lang (residing in Kach Nho 2 village, Dak Sao commune) who was struck by lightning.

According to the People's Committee of Dak Sao commune, at approximately 2:30 PM on April 16th, a sudden heavy rainstorm accompanied by intense lightning struck the area. At that time, Mr. A Lang and four family members were sitting in their house when a lightning strike unexpectedly hit them, causing severe head injuries and significant bleeding for Mr. A Lang.

Immediately afterwards, his family quickly took A Lang to the Dak Sao Commune Health Station for first aid. However, due to the severity of his injuries, he was immediately transferred to the Kon Tum Provincial General Hospital for emergency care and intensive treatment.

By the morning of April 17th, Kon Tum Provincial General Hospital reported that A Lang's health condition had stabilized and his injuries were no longer life-threatening.

Mr. Nguyen Van Ben, Chairman of the People's Committee of Dak Sao commune, said that as soon as they received the information, the commune visited the family to offer condolences and encouragement, and also provided some financial assistance to help alleviate their economic difficulties.

In addition, local authorities also advise people to be cautious and proactively take preventive measures when heavy rain and thunderstorms occur to ensure the safety of themselves and their families.

Earlier, on the afternoon of April 14th, a lightning strike also occurred in Kon Tum province, killing one person and injuring six others.
