On December 18th, the National Dermatology Hospital launched a health record application for patients called "National Dermatology Hospital".
According to Associate Professor Dr. Le Huu Doanh, Director of the Central Dermatology Hospital, the hospital receives an average of 1,500-2,000 patients per day; on peak days, this number can reach up to 2,700.

"The large number of patients, long waiting times, and increasingly high demands for service quality pose significant challenges to the organization of medical examinations and treatment."
Therefore, a strong push to innovate management methods, optimize processes, reduce waiting times, and simultaneously improve service efficiency and transparency in healthcare provision is extremely urgent. The application of health records is one of the key solutions to meet this requirement," affirmed Associate Professor Dr. Le Huu Doanh.
According to MSc. Le The Vinh, Head of the Information Technology Department, applying health records helps hospitals be more proactive in staffing, reduce pressure in reception areas, standardize examination and treatment procedures, improve service quality, and enhance management efficiency.
More importantly, this is a foundational first step in a comprehensive digital transformation roadmap, moving towards a smart hospital model that is patient-centered and enhances patient satisfaction.
Associate Professor Dr. Le Huu Doanh stated that many dermatological conditions such as chronic urticaria, psoriasis, autoimmune diseases, connective tissue diseases, genetic diseases, rare diseases, or even some infectious diseases… require monitoring and treatment not measured in a single visit, but for years, or even decades.
"With the health record application, patients can proactively track their entire medical history and treatment process. The application helps to store complete, systematic, and continuous medical information, supporting doctors with sufficient data to make the most accurate and effective treatment decisions for patients with long-term chronic diseases," shared the Director of the Central Dermatology Hospital.
Regarding security, MSc. Le The Vinh stated that the application employs a strict authentication mechanism and data encryption, ensuring that only patients have access to their records. The development and operation of the application fully comply with the regulations of the Ministry of Health and the law on personal data protection and medical information security.
With this application, patients can proactively register for appointments for themselves and their relatives; make online payments; track treatment results; look up medical records, test results, and prescriptions; reduce waiting times and increase convenience when accessing healthcare services.
This also serves as a channel for patients to assess their satisfaction level, helping the hospital receive feedback and continuously improve the quality of its services.
