Nearly 41.6 km long, submerged in water or suspended in the sky… the bridges are proof of the “limitless” nature of architecture.
Many bridges not only serve the function of transportation but also possess unique and impressive architecture. Their designs demonstrate human creativity and advanced construction techniques, and many of them also become attractive and inspiring tourist attractions.
1. Giao Chau Bay Bridge
The first name comes from the “billion-people country” China, Jiaozhou Bay Bridge is the second longest sea-crossing bridge in the world with a total length of 41.58 km. The project is considered a symbol of great progress in the construction engineering industry, connecting the bustling city of Qingdao with the Huangdao area to promote local economy and trade.

2. Bac Ban Giang Bridge
Located in Liupanshui, China, the Beipanjiang Bridge stands tall at 565 meters, surpassing all competitors in the world in terms of height. Designed as a cable-stayed bridge, Beipanjiang was inaugurated in 2016, shortening the travel time between the two cities of Qujing and Liupanshui. The view from the bridge is of a valley with majestic mountains hidden in the clouds.

3. Golden Bridge Da Nang
Located on the top of Ba Na Hills, the Golden Bridge is a masterpiece from Vietnam designed by architect Vo Trong Nghia. The bridge is 150 meters long, standing out with the image of two giant hands supporting a golden silk strip winding between the clouds, made of steel and fiberglass weighing up to 880 tons. The Golden Bridge has become the pride of Da Nang and is a destination not to be missed when traveling to the beautiful coastal city.

4. Loopgraafbrug Bridge
As its name suggests, “Loopgraafbrug” means “Mound Bridge” in Dutch. The bridge follows the slope of De Roovere fortress as a walkway over a moat. However, instead of being built on the surface, the bridge is “invisible” as it passes through the water.
This unique design serves both to provide access to the fortress and to preserve the integrity of the moat. The height of the water flow is controlled by dams so that the bridge will never be flooded.

5. Sky Bridge
Sky Bridge is a 125-meter long cable-stayed suspension bridge located on the top of Gunung Mat Chinchang in the Langkawi archipelago, Malaysia. Dubbed the “bridge in the clouds”, Sky Bridge with its transparent glass floor gives the feeling of floating. Standing from Sky Bridge, you can admire the majestic panorama of Langkawi archipelago with its green islands, pristine beaches and vast tropical forests.

6. Banpo Bridge
Located across the Han River in Seoul, South Korea, the famous Banpo Bridge has a spectacular water show dubbed the world's longest "rainbow fountain". The bridge was inaugurated in 1982 with a length of 1,200 meters and a system of 380 water jets equipped with 10,000 colorful LED lights.
Every evening, visitors will be able to admire a colorful water music performance, combining music, light and water to create an extremely impressive visual effect.

7. Magdeburg Bridge
Magdeburg is a unique aqueduct spanning the Elbe River in the city of Magdeburg, Germany. The structure is 918 meters long, including a 228 meter long main bridge spanning the Elbe River and two 340 meter long water channels on both sides. The special feature that makes this bridge famous is the water channel system designed inside the bridge, allowing ships to move back and forth without lowering or raising the water level.

8. Gateshead Millennium Bridge
Located in Gateshead, spanning the River Tyne in England, the Gateshead Millennium Bridge attracts with its impressive beauty and flexible tilting ability. The bridge is made up of two main parts: the curved bridge body and the parabolic support. Thanks to a powerful hydraulic piston system, the bridge body can rotate 40 degrees, rising to make room for passing ships.

9. Öresund Bridge
This is a unique architectural work connecting the two cities of Copenhagen, Denmark and Malmö, Sweden; including an 8km long cable-stayed bridge, a 4km undersea tunnel and the artificial island of Peberholm, where the tunnel is located and is a transit point between the two countries.
The bridge helps shorten travel time from 2 hours to 40 minutes, creating favorable conditions for people to travel, study and work. Besides its economic value, the bridge is also a famous tourist destination because of its majestic landscape and unique architecture.

10. Erasmus Bridge
Also known as the Swan Bridge, Erasmus spans the Nieuwe Maas River in Rotterdam, Netherlands. The bridge has a Y-shaped main tower inspired by the shape of a swan and is anchored by steel cables.
With a height of 139 meters and a span of 802 meters, this is the largest cable-stayed bridge in Europe. In addition to its transportation function, visitors can climb to the top of the main tower to enjoy a panoramic view of the city of Rotterdam or walk along the private path to enjoy the poetic scenery.
