Attending the ceremony were: Ms. Tran Thi Kim Cuc, former member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam and former Secretary of the Tien Giang Provincial Party Committee; Mr. Pham The Vinh, Deputy Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of the Dong Thap Provincial Party Committee; Mr. Tran Van An, Director of Tien Giang Lottery Company Limited; Ms. Ngo Thi Ngoc Hanh, Editor-in-Chief of Dong Thap Newspaper, Radio and Television; along with leaders of departments and agencies, and disadvantaged students in the province.
For the 2025-2026 academic year, the "Wings of Dreams" scholarship program will award 105 scholarships to disadvantaged students in Dong Thap province; including 25 scholarships for primary school students (3 million VND each), 25 scholarships for secondary school students (3 million VND each), 25 scholarships for high school students (4 million VND each), and 30 scholarships for university students (5 million VND each).
The total budget for the scholarship program for the 2025-2026 academic year is 400 million VND, sponsored by Tien Giang Lottery Company Limited.
Each scholarship awarded represents a different story and circumstance; some are orphans, some come from families with unstable incomes, and some students have to work while studying to make ends meet. Despite their diverse backgrounds, they all share a common aspiration: to continue their education, nurture their dreams, and rise above their circumstances through their own efforts.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Tran Van An, Director of Tien Giang Lottery Company Limited, said that in addition to its business activities, over the years, Tien Giang Lottery Company Limited has always actively carried out social welfare work in the province, especially the construction of solidarity houses and houses of compassion, awarding scholarships to support and help those in difficult circumstances, sick, or in critical condition to receive treatment, overcome difficulties, and stabilize their lives.
In 2025, the total amount contributed by Tien Giang Lottery Company Limited to social welfare activities in the province is 16.3 billion VND, including: sponsorship for education and healthcare; participation in contributing to the Funds for the Poor, the Fund for Child Protection, the Fund for Poor Patients, People with Disabilities and Orphans, the Fund for Gratitude and Remembrance, the Fund for Victims of Agent Orange, etc.
Ms. Ngo Thi Ngoc Hanh, Editor-in-Chief of Dong Thap Newspaper and Radio & Television, respectfully thanks Ms. Tran Thi Kim Cuc, former Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, former Secretary of the Tien Giang Provincial Party Committee, along with leaders of provincial departments and agencies and Tien Giang Lottery Company Limited for their cooperation with Dong Thap Newspaper and Radio & Television in implementing the "Wings of Dreams" scholarship program.
Comrade Ngo Thi Ngoc Hanh shared that, in the emotional atmosphere of the first days of the new year 2026, there was a coincidental similarity in that this series of events continues from activities previously organized by Ap Bac Newspaper, such as the Ap Bac Cross-Country Race and the "Wings of Dreams" scholarship program. Upon merging, the Editorial Board of Dong Thap Newspaper and Radio and Television has always recognized its responsibility to uphold the spirit of convergence and collaboration.
All activities and strengths of the previous units will be retained and further developed by the Editorial Board to ensure that the events have their own unique identity and to further enhance the strength of their traditions.
Entering a new phase, the "Wings of Dreams" scholarship program continues to leverage its collective strength and spread the value of nurturing talent for future generations.
For over 20 years, the "Wings of Dreams" scholarship program has affirmed its important role in empowering students from disadvantaged backgrounds to excel in their studies.
To date, the program has awarded scholarships to 1,870 students, with a total value of over 4.146 billion VND. These scholarships enable disadvantaged students in the province to overcome difficulties, continue their education, pursue their dreams, live well, and contribute to the community and society.
Many scholarship recipients from the program have graduated, turned their dreams into reality, and will never forget the program's support in helping them build their lives and careers.
Speaking at the ceremony, Pham The Vinh, Deputy Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of the Dong Thap Provincial Party Committee, said that the "Wings of Dreams" scholarship program is an activity with profound humanitarian significance, demonstrating the social responsibility and long-term support of Dong Thap Newspaper and Radio and Television and businesses for students in difficult circumstances, contributing to giving them more motivation to study and strive for a better life.
