The job connection festival for union members, young workers and laborers in Ho Chi Minh City is scheduled to be held on December 17 at the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Culture Palace.

This festival is considered the largest job fair in 2023, organized by the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation in coordination with the Department of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs, the City Youth Union and the City Business Association.

Among nearly 100 businesses registering to recruit at the fair, Worldon Vietnam Co., Ltd. (Dong Nam Industrial Park, Cu Chi) recruited the most with nearly 8,000 job positions, mainly sewing, cutting, printing workers... The reason is that this unit is expanding production, completing construction of a new factory, so it needs many workers.

Another garment company that needs to recruit a lot of workers is Dong Nam Viet Nam Co., Ltd. (Thoi Tam Thon Commune, Hoc Mon District) with a need for 800 sewing workers. Some other garment and footwear companies in Ho Chi Minh City also need to recruit for year-end orders, however, only at the level of 100-200 workers.

The highest demand is from LOTTE Vietnam Commercial Center Joint Stock Company, which needs to recruit 1,000 seasonal employees. Institute Computer Joint Stock Company also needs to recruit 1,000 repair and warranty technicians.

In addition to job introduction activities, the December 17th festival also has many other programs such as: information on employment trends for workers, propaganda on social insurance policies and instructions on installing VssID software, instructions on documents for preferential loan programs for workers...

Before this festival, the Ho Chi Minh City Employment Service Center also successfully organized a direct and online job fair connecting Ho Chi Minh City with the Mekong Delta provinces and neighboring provinces on November 24.

This job fair has 16 job service centers and 30 labor recruitment enterprises participating, attracting more than 1,200 workers to look for jobs. On the day of the fair, enterprises directly recruited hundreds of job positions in the fields of information technology, chefs, receptionists, etc.

According to Mr. Le Van Thinh, Director of the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs of Ho Chi Minh City, this activity is not only a place for workers to find job opportunities and businesses to recruit quality human resources, but also expands the opportunity to connect Ho Chi Minh City with neighboring provinces through sharing and learning experiences in organizing job fairs.

According to Ms. Nguyen Hoang Hieu, Director of the Center for Human Resources Demand Forecasting and Labor Market Information of Ho Chi Minh City (Falmi), many businesses currently have high recruitment needs to prepare for production and business needs during Tet. Falmi forecasts that in the last months of the year, Ho Chi Minh City will need more than 81,000 jobs. In the first quarter of 2024, Ho Chi Minh City will need about 77,500-86,000 jobs.
