200 people make Korean kimchi together in Da Lat

(NLDO) - This is one of the activities of the Korean Cultural Day program in Da Lat, responding to the 10th Da Lat Flower Festival.


Korean Cultural Day in Da Lat 2024, organized by the Korean Embassy in Vietnam in coordination with the People's Committee of Lam Dong province, took place on December 13 at Lam Vien Square, Da Lat City.

This is also one of the programs responding to the 10th Da Lat Flower Festival, enhancing cultural exchange between Korea and Vietnam, especially in localities with development potential, known to many Korean people such as Da Lat.

Despite the rain, hundreds of locals and tourists were still excited to participate and experience making kimjang - Korean kimchi. Korean culinary instructor Kim Eun Ja directly guided the making of kimchi, attracting about 200 participants. Locals and tourists were able to make kimchi themselves using ingredients such as cabbage, carrots, garlic, chili peppers, etc. from Da Lat.

The main ingredients for making kimchi are products grown in Da Lat.

The program takes place all day on December 13 with experiences of wearing hanbok; chasing pictures to guess Korean culture; making handmade Korean kites; flying kites using virtual reality technology; experiencing K-pop and interesting Korean creative content...

About 200 people enthusiastically participated in making kimchi at Lam Vien Square.

On the evening of December 13, there will be a Vietnam - Korea cultural and artistic exchange music night with performances by Korean B-boy group SDG Crew, Korean girl group Queen, singer Trung Quan Idol, K-pop dance group Cover Dance Lucifer & Bestever and artists from Da Lat City Cultural Center.

Tourists enjoy the experience of wearing hanbok - traditional Korean clothing.

Mr. Choi Seung Jin, Director of the Korean Cultural Center in Vietnam, said that the Korean Cultural Day will be an interesting stop for tourists coming to Da Lat this December, especially when the 10th Da Lat Flower Festival is taking place with many attractive activities. The program hopes to contribute to further enhancing cultural exchanges between Korea and Vietnam as well as the city of thousands of flowers in Lam Dong province.
