During the peak period of university and college admissions applications, candidates are at a crucial crossroads, carefully considering their options to shape their future.
Besides the large number of students choosing the path of university, many young people confidently choose a different path, heading towards vocational education with aspirations to attend colleges, which offer practical learning opportunities and align with their passions and abilities.
This diversity of choices reflects a trend toward flexibility, responding to the evolving needs of society and the labor market.
Continuing its series of 2025 college admissions counseling activities, the Education and Times Newspaper organized its third online counseling program with the theme "Choosing a solid career, avoiding unemployment" on the morning of July 22nd.
The program was reported on the Education and Times Online newspaper, with the participation of representatives from four training institutions: Dai Viet Saigon College, iSPACE College, Ho Chi Minh City College of Technology, and Saigon Polytechnic College.
Centered around "hot" topics such as academic orientation, training strategies linked to the labor market, practical learning models, scholarship and financial aid policies, and job placement commitments, the program helps provide realistic perspectives, authentic information, and useful experiences directly from training institutions.
Besides the Q&A session, the program also provides an opportunity for students and parents to listen to insights from faculty and experts on academic fields with potential for growth in the next 5-10 years.
Journalist Nguyen Anh Tu, head of the Education and Times newspaper's Ho Chi Minh City bureau, believes that nowadays, choosing between college or vocational training is no longer considered a "last resort" as in the past. Instead, it is a suitable and flexible path that meets the individual goals and circumstances of each student.
"Colleges offer practical training programs that focus on developing professional skills, helping students quickly adapt and meet the demands of the labor market. In the context of increasing demand for high-quality human resources in engineering, services, and technology, this option is not only effective but also saves time and money for many young people," Mr. Tú stated.
The exchange will take place from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM on July 22, 2025, at the Ho Chi Minh City branch of the Education and Times Newspaper (322 Dien Bien Phu Street , Vuon Lai Ward, Ho Chi Minh City).
Parents and students interested in this topic can send their questions to the program via email: coquanthuongtrutphcm@gmail.com to be answered during the 2025 admissions counseling program.
