The Au Co Temple relic site is the main place where the Au Co Mother Goddess Worship - a national intangible cultural heritage - is practiced. The Au Co Mother Goddess Worship at the Au Co Temple is expressed and practiced in many forms, of which the most focused is the organization of worship of Au Co Mother Goddess and her children and grandchildren from the 7th to the 9th of January every year.
The worship of Mother Au Co is a unique cultural heritage of the Vietnamese people with full symbols, legends, memories, values, rituals and traditions. Born and existing in the land of the ancestors, closely associated with and vividly reflecting the legend of Lac Long Quan - Au Co and the sac of 100 eggs; expressing the belief of the Vietnamese people in the sacred and noble origin of the nation, the worship of Mother Au Co has formed, contributing to consolidating the existence of the national symbol.
On May 26, 2023, the People's Committee of Phu Tho province issued Decision No. 1071/QD-UBND recognizing the Mau Temple cultural tourism site (Ha Hoa district, Phu Tho province) as a provincial-level cultural tourism site with an area of 82,213m2 .
On the occasion of the Au Co Temple Festival, on February 14 (ie January 5, Giap Thin year), Phu Tho province held a ceremony to announce the decision to recognize the Au Co Temple as a cultural tourist destination and open the Au Co Temple Festival in the spring of Giap Thin year 2024.
Organizing the Au Co Temple Festival is to show the respect of generations of Lac Hong descendants to their ancestors who have contributed to building the country and expanding the territory. Returning to Au Co Temple is to show the traditional cultural identity and noble morality of the Vietnamese people "When drinking water, remember its source". This is also an occasion, a place for the people of Bach Viet to turn to their roots, to unite together, overcome all hardships and challenges, strive to build and protect the homeland, a rich and civilized country.
