3 people died, 2 people were injured by lightning
Accordingly, heavy rain accompanied by tornadoes and lightning on June 13 in Quang Ninh and Hung Yen provinces killed 3 people (1 in Quang Ninh, 2 in Hung Yen) and injured 2 people (Quang Ninh) due to lightning strikes.
Meanwhile, the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Control and Search and Rescue of Ca Mau province said that from June 10 to 12, in Nam Can district (Ca Mau province), there were 6 landslides along the river, affecting 4 houses, damaging 1 concrete bridge, and 20m of rural road collapsed. The total damage is estimated at about 125 million VND.
According to information from the Institute of Geophysics, at about 0:44 on June 15, in Kon Plong district ( Kon Tum province), an earthquake of 3.3 Richter scale occurred, with a focal depth of about 8.1 km.
Immediately after the disaster, local authorities visited and encouraged families of the deceased, mobilized local forces to support people in overcoming the consequences of the disaster, stabilizing their lives, and organized statistics and damage assessments.
According to the weather forecast of the meteorological agency, the weather during the day and night of June 15, in the Northern region and Thanh Hoa, there will be rain, moderate rain and thunderstorms, locally heavy rain with rainfall of 20 - 40 mm, some places over 60 mm (rain concentrated in the afternoon and night).
Thunderstorms may produce tornadoes, lightning, hail, and strong gusts of wind. Moderate to heavy rain may cause flooding in low-lying areas.
Thunderstorms in the Northern region are likely to last until June 16. The risk level of natural disasters due to tornadoes, lightning, and hail is at level 1.
