Towards the 80th anniversary of the People's Public Security Traditional Day (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025) and the 20th anniversary of the National Day for National Security Protection (August 19, 2005 - August 19, 2025), and at the same time responding to the Campaign "All people exercise following the example of great Uncle Ho", on July 11, the Vietnam People's Public Security Sports Association coordinated with New Sports Joint Stock Company to hold a press conference "The 1st Northern Open Pickleball Tournament of the People's Public Security in 2025".
According to the Organizing Committee, the tournament is held with the aim of improving physical fitness, building a healthy spiritual life in the entire force, contributing to improving the bravery, skills, fighting strength and readiness to complete tasks well in the new situation. At the same time, the tournament is also a meaningful exchange playground between the Public Security Forces and the sports-loving community.
Speaking at the press conference, Major General Le Xuan Duc, Chief of Office of the Public Security Sports Association, said that this is the first Pickleball tournament in the entire Public Security Force and the first time the Public Security Sports Association has organized it on a large scale, gathering many athletes from the Public Security Forces, localities and outside the Public Security Forces. Through the tournament, in addition to contributing to the development of Pickleball in the Public Security Forces; along with that, it is possible to find potential athletes with qualities to contribute to Vietnamese sports in general and Public Security Forces sports in particular.
The tournament attracted about 500 athletes who are police officers and soldiers from units and localities from Hue and beyond, along with athletes registered in the expanded category such as famous athlete Ly Hoang Nam... Athletes participated in the tournament in two categories with a total prize value of up to 1 billion VND.
Specifically, the grassroots category is for police officers and soldiers based from Hue to the North, ensuring health and competition conditions; including 2 age groups for men and women (35 years old and under and 36 years old and over), and the leader-officer doubles content (over 35 years old). The open category does not distinguish between age or level, and is open to all athletes and Pickleball clubs nationwide.
With the spirit of "Healthy to protect the Fatherland, healthy to build the country", the 2025 CAND Pickleball Tournament is an important occasion for the CAND force to affirm their physical strength, spreading a professional, modern, and brave image.
The tournament will officially take place over 3 days, from July 18 to 20, 2025 in Hanoi .
