On July 13th, the Hai Phong Department of Health, in coordination with the People's Committee of Le Thanh Nghi Ward, conducted an inspection of MELIZA Beauty Clinic, located at 484 Nguyen Van Linh Street, Thanh Binh Ward, Hai Phong City, to check compliance with legal regulations in the field of healthcare.
Upon inspection and verification, this facility was found not to have been granted a license to operate medical examination and treatment services by the Department of Health.
The Hai Phong Department of Health has ordered the facility to cease all activities related to the healthcare sector and will continue to coordinate with relevant agencies to handle the matter within its authority after receiving the conclusions from the competent authorities.
According to initial information, Ms. NTT (born in 1985, residing at Do Quang Street, Le Thanh Nghi Ward, Hai Phong City) had breast augmentation surgery at another facility (the exact time of the procedure is unclear).
At approximately 10:00 AM on July 2nd, Ms. NTT arrived at the beauty and therapy facility, and pharmacist Thanh Tuyen assigned a staff member to massage her face and chest. Feeling tired, Ms. Nguyen Thi Tuyen used acupuncture needles and applied warm oil to her chest area, after which Ms. NTT rested at the facility.
In the early afternoon of the same day, Ms. NTT felt unwell and more tired, so Ms. Nguyen Thi Tuyen took her to Hai Duong General Hospital for emergency treatment, after which she was transferred to Bach Mai Hospital.
Currently, Ms. NTT is receiving intensive treatment at Bach Mai Hospital using ECMO (extracorporeal membrane oxygenation), a method of supporting circulation and artificial respiration to replace the heart and lungs, but the prognosis is very poor.
