Completing the positions of the People's Council and People's Committee of Hai Phong city

On the afternoon of December 9, at the 32nd Session, the 16th Hai Phong City People's Council carried out personnel work within its authority.

Accordingly, the People's Council of Hai Phong city unanimously agreed to dismiss the position of member of the City People's Committee for the 16th term, 2021 - 2026 term for: Former Director of the Department of Science and Technology Pham Van Thep, former Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Tran Thi Hoang Mai and former Chief Inspector of the city Bui Thi Hong Van; elect to fill the position of Head of the Culture - Social Committee of the City People's Council for the 16th term for Mr. Nguyen Cao Lan, former Deputy Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee of the City Party Committee; elect to fill the position of member of the Hai Phong City People's Committee for the 16th term for Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Thanh Trung, Director of the Department of Home Affairs Sai Thi Yen, Director of the Department of Foreign Affairs Tran Thi Quynh Trang and Director of the Department of Science and Technology Nguyen Cao Thang.

According to Mr. Le Van Hieu, Chairman of the Hai Phong City People's Council, the meeting will review 27 reports and approve 47 resolutions, including 4 key groups of issues: Assessing the implementation of the Socio-Economic Development Plan, political tasks in 2025 and the 2021-2025 period; proposing practical, timely and feasible solutions to comprehensively complete the goals, targets and tasks in 2026, towards successfully implementing the socio-economic development tasks for the entire 2026-2030 period; reviewing specialized resolutions to concretize the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's laws, creating a mechanism to promote potentials and strengths, promote socio-economic development, and meet the requirements of the 2-level local government model.

The Hai Phong City People's Council will also review the work results reports of the Standing Committee of the People's Council, the People's Committee, and the People's Council Committees; thematic reports of the City People's Committee; Report on responses to voters' opinions and recommendations and the report on supervision results of the City People's Council in 2025; Report on work results for the 2021-2026 term of a number of agencies as prescribed by law.

Also at this session, the City People's Council will hold a direct questioning session in the assembly hall focusing on areas such as: violations of construction regulations; traffic congestion; access to social housing; issues related to household waste and solid waste management; procedures for renewing land use right certificates; the shortage of public schools and classrooms; digital transformation and administrative procedure reform…

According to Chairman of Hai Phong City People's Committee Le Ngoc Chau, in 2025, Hai Phong's GRDP will continue to maintain double-digit growth, estimated at 11.81%.

Currently, Hai Phong city's economic scale ranks third in the country after Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. Total state budget revenue reached over 187 trillion VND, up 23.1% over the same period last year.

In 2025, Hai Phong will also welcome over 14.4 million tourists, an increase of 23.4%. The number of newly established enterprises will reach 7,200, an increase of over 33%. The implementation of the two-level local government model has initially come into operation effectively, operated smoothly, and met the requirements.../.
