On the afternoon of December 13th, Deputy Director of the Quang Ngai Department of Health , Do Ngoc Hoa, reported that several people in the area had been hospitalized suspected of food poisoning from bread.
According to Mr. Hoa, Phuc Hung General Hospital reported that on December 13th, they received and treated 15 cases with symptoms such as fever, abdominal pain, nausea, and diarrhea after eating bread from the HV brand.

The patients are currently receiving treatment at Phuc Hung General Hospital.
Among these, 7 patients were admitted to the emergency department (1 case in the pediatrics department, 6 cases in the internal medicine department). The patients came from various communes and wards such as Nghia Lo, Khanh Cuong, Nghia Giang, Cam Thanh, etc.
According to Mr. Do Ngoc Hoa, apart from Phuc Hung General Hospital, no other medical facility has reported similar suspected food poisoning incidents so far. The Department is coordinating with the Food Safety Sub-Department and other relevant agencies to cordon off the area and seal samples of the suspected food poisoning for testing.
"This bread brand has many branches located throughout the province, so it's unclear which branch the patients' food poisoning symptoms originated from. Currently, we are focusing on contact tracing and treating the seriously ill patients," Mr. Hoa said.
