On November 26, the Department of Food Safety (DFS) of Ho Chi Minh City announced that it had determined the cause of the poisoning incident at Ms. Bich's toad bread (112A Nguyen Thai Son, Hanh Thong ward).
Based on the results of epidemiological investigation, analytical data, specimen testing results and expert opinions from the units, the Department of Food Safety concluded: The food causing poisoning was bread, with the cause being salmonella bacteria.
Accordingly, from the afternoon of November 7 to November 13, hospitals in Ho Chi Minh City received 316 cases with suspected symptoms of food poisoning after eating bread from this facility.
The Department of Food Safety has conducted an epidemiological investigation, collected food samples and sent them for testing to find the cause of the poisoning.

Becamex International General Hospital, Gia Dinh People's Hospital, and Tam Anh General Hospital also assisted in collecting 27 samples (stool and vomit samples) to find the cause. As a result, 15/27 samples were found to contain salmonella bacteria.
