Speaking at the opening of the Conference, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Tri Thuc - Deputy Minister of Health said: The 10th session of the 15th National Assembly taking place in Hanoi will have many laws passed, including the Law on Digital Transformation, amendments to the Law on High Technology... Notably, Vietnam is the first country to pass the Law on AI.
In that context, the 23rd Annual Scientific Conference of the Southern Hospital Directors Club also focused on discussing issues related to digital transformation, technology application in hospital management and operation as well as supporting professional work.
Deputy Minister Nguyen Tri Thuc emphasized that digital transformation and technology application are considered "opening ways" for the healthcare sector to enter the digital era: "In the past, we often managed hospitals based on experience, but now we have to apply science to healthcare management. High technology and artificial intelligence (AI) are the keys for the Vietnamese healthcare sector to take off in the near future."

Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh Thuy - Vice Chairwoman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee - also agreed that, in this period of strong transformation, the health sector needs to take the lead in applying new technology to serve the work of protecting and taking care of people's health.
Ms. Thuy also hopes that the event is a valuable opportunity for An Giang province to learn from advanced management models, connect with experts, and strengthen the local health care system.

According to the Director of the Department of Medical Examination and Treatment Management, KPI is not simply numbers, but a modern management tool, helping hospitals quantify operational efficiency, replacing emotional assessments with specific data; at the same time promoting a culture of continuous improvement, towards international standards.
In the coming time, the Ministry of Health will develop and apply KPIs in the medical examination and treatment system to create a modern management tool, contributing to the implementation of the requirements of Resolution No. 72-NQ/TW on improving the quality of medical services; ensuring people have access to safe and effective services; promoting digital transformation, towards building a quality, effective and sustainable healthcare system.

Delegates attending the Annual Scientific Conference of the Southern Hospital Directors Club.
The Southern Hospital Directors Club was established in 2000 under the direction of the Ministry of Health, including members who are medical units in the southern provinces and cities.
Since its establishment, the Club has organized annual scientific conferences regularly every year, creating conditions for hospital managers to update new policies and guidelines of the Ministry of Health; at the same time, exchange and share experiences in hospital management, contributing to improving the effectiveness of medical examination and treatment to serve the people.
In 2025, the Conference took place on November 27 and 28, focusing on discussing topics related to digital transformation, technology application in hospital management and professional development and improvement.
Within the framework of the Conference, the Southern Hospital Directors Club presented 100 million VND in support to the Association for Supporting Poor Patients of An Giang province and 100 million VND to support people affected by storms and floods.
Also at the Conference, the Organizing Committee placed donation boxes for delegates to contribute to support people in the Central and Central Highlands provinces who suffered losses in the recent storms and floods.
