6 expressways nearing completion

TPO - The Ministry of Construction expects that from now until August 19, 6 component projects invested by the Ministry will complete the main route, with a total length of 208km.

According to the report on the implementation of projects of the Ministry of Construction , up to now, the whole country has 2,268km of expressways. The Ministry of Construction and localities are constructing 25 projects or component projects (DATP) with a total length of 941km. Of which, the Ministry of Construction is the managing agency of 14 projects/DATP with a length of 652km.

In particular, the Ministry of Construction expects that from now until August 19, 6 DATPs will complete the main route with a total length of 208km. These 6 projects include: Vung Ang - Bung; Van Ninh - Cam Lo; the remaining 13km of the Van Phong - Nha Trang expressway project; some sections of the Quang Ngai - Hoai Nhon expressway (10/88km); Hoai Nhon - Quy Nhon (45/70km); Quy Nhon - Chi Thanh (20/62km); and the Hoa Lien - Tuy Loan expressway. The remaining projects are being implemented with efforts, basically following the completion plan by the end of this year.

Of the 11 projects/DATPs with a length of 289km invested by local authorities, 5 projects are following the set plan. The remaining 6 projects with a length of 195km are behind schedule, including: DATP 3, 5 beltway 3 of Ho Chi Minh City; DATP 1 Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway; DATP 3 Khanh Hoa - Buon Ma Thuot expressway; Tuyen Quang - Ha Giang expressway; DATP 1 An Huu - Cao Lanh.

In addition, the Huu Nghi - Chi Lang and Dong Dang - Tra Linh projects are scheduled to be completed in 2026; therefore, Lang Son and Cao Bang provinces are making efforts to ensure the route is open by the end of this year.

According to the Ministry of Construction, this year our country is actively striving to complete the target of 3,000 km of highways. In the first 6 months of the year, the Ministry has completed investment and construction procedures to start 6 projects, inaugurate and put into operation 3 projects; technically open 3 projects; and close 1 large bridge.

Specifically, the Ministry has started 5 projects including: Upgrading and expanding a number of bridges and tunnels on National Highway 1; expanding the Cao Bo - Mai Son expressway section; investing in the route connecting Noi Bai - Lao Cai expressway with Tuyen Quang - Phu Tho expressway; National Highway 46 section Vinh City - Nam Dan town; expanding the North - South expressway section La Son - Hoa Lien.

Completed and put into operation the project to renovate weak bridges and connect on national highways; 70/83km of Van Phong - Nha Trang section. On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and national reunification - April 30, the Ministry of Construction has exploited the main route of 3 projects: Bai Vot - Ham Nghi; Ham Nghi - Vung Ang; Bung - Van Ninh. In addition, Rach Mieu 2 bridge was closed.
