Dr. Van Phung Truong Son, graduated from Carnegie Mellon University, USA and Dr. Nguyen Sy Ngoc, graduated from Seoul National University, Korea, worked at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology.

Dr. Vu Gia Phong, graduated from the University of California Berkeley, USA, and worked at the International University. Dr. Pham Ngoc Thanh, graduated from Osaka University, Japan, and worked at An Giang University.

These 7 PhDs are among 23 people who came to Ho Chi Minh City National University under the VNU350 Program. According to this program, for young scientists, in the first 2 years, they will be granted 1 scientific research topic of type C (budget of 200 million VND); in the third year, they will be granted 1 topic of type B (maximum budget of 1 billion); in the fourth year, they will be supported to invest in a laboratory for scientific research, with a maximum budget of 10 billion VND; in the fifth year, they will be supported and guided in procedures and processes for considering and recognizing them as meeting the standards for the title of associate professor at the state level.

For leading scientists, in the first 2 years, they will be granted a type B scientific research project (maximum budget of 1 billion VND). In the following years, they will be supported to invest in laboratories for scientific research, with a maximum budget of 30 billion VND; they will be supported to establish strong research groups and register to preside over projects at all levels.

In addition to the above benefits, they receive salaries and bonuses according to regulations.
