Gathering around the dinner table
Around 11 a.m. on a day in mid-May, more than 250 workers at the Sanvinest Khanh Hoa Bird's Nest Processing Plant (Song Cau Industrial Cluster, Khanh Vinh Commune), a subsidiary of the Khanh Hoa Bird's Nest State-owned Company Limited, temporarily set aside their work and gathered for a warm and friendly lunch. That day's meal was more special than usual, with carefully prepared dishes such as braised pork with eggs, stir-fried beef, boiled vegetables with dipping sauce, and vegetable soup with minced meat. After the main meal, each worker also received a can of bird's nest drink. The significance of the "Trade Union Meal" lies not only in the quality of the meal but also in the sharing between the company, the trade union, and the workers. During the meal, company leaders and trade union officials personally visited each table to inquire about, encourage, and chat with the workers. Ms. Le Thi Ha, a factory worker, shared: “The daily meals are already sufficient, but today they are even more abundant, and everyone praised them for being delicious and high-quality. We are very grateful to the trade union for always accompanying the company in taking care of the lives of the workers.”

The warm atmosphere of the "Trade Union Meal" also spread to Sanest Khanh Hoa Beverage Joint Stock Company (Nam Cam Ranh commune). More than 200 workers gathered around the meals; the lively laughter and conversations during the break helped to dispel some of the fatigue after work. Ms. Truong Thi Thuy Hong, a worker at the company, said that what she felt most strongly was not only the meal being tastier than usual, but also the care and sharing from the trade union and the company. When the leaders sat down to eat with them, inquiring about their lives and work, the employees felt appreciated and gained more motivation to stay with the company in the long term.

Strengthening the bond between businesses and employees.
Ms. Tran Thi Huong, Vice President of the Provincial Labor Union, stated that during the 2026 Workers' Month, the "Trade Union Meal" program, organized by trade unions at all levels in coordination with businesses, has become a meaningful activity, spreading care and sharing towards union members and workers. Although the dishes are not overly elaborate, they are all carefully prepared, ensuring nutrition and food safety. Not only does it contribute to improving the quality of meals, but the program also creates a warm and connected atmosphere between businesses and workers. In many units, business leaders sit down to eat with workers, chatting about income, working conditions, housing, or their children's education. These everyday conversations over the meal have helped increase sharing and empathy between employers and employees. In particular, this year's program also includes a message about occupational safety and hygiene. Trade unions at all levels integrate the dissemination of knowledge on health protection, accident prevention, and raising awareness of compliance with safe production processes in enterprises. Many enterprises also coordinate to organize health check-ups, nutritional counseling, and tặng gifts to employees in difficult circumstances.
The aforementioned activities demonstrate the company's practical concern for the health of its employees, a crucial factor contributing to increased productivity and sustainable development. When employees feel cared for and respected, they become more committed and responsible in their work.
