'Settling down and making a living' from the great solidarity house in the border area of Son La

TPO - Joy broke out for 6 Mong and S'Mun ethnic households in particularly difficult circumstances in a border commune in Son La, when their dream of a spacious and solid house became a reality. This is not only a material gift, but also a solid spiritual support, adding motivation for people to "settle down, have a career", strive to develop the economy, and escape poverty sustainably.

Those spacious houses are the result of the joint efforts of the People's Public Security (CAND) Ceremonial Group and the Police Regiment for protecting diplomatic missions, the Police Regiment for protecting political , economic, socio-cultural, scientific and technical targets and accompanying units, further strengthening the solidarity between the army and the people in the border area.

The six households receiving houses in Pa Kha 2, De A, Ta Vang, Co Chia, Na Mua (Long Phien commune) are in particularly difficult circumstances. Previously, the families lived in temporary, dilapidated houses. They were not only worried about food and clothing, but also worried that the temporary house could collapse at any time. That worry eroded the strength and will to rise of the whole family.

Now, the dream of a decent house of 6 families has come true on their land. Each sturdy house is from 80 to 100m2 wide, "built according to the requirements of the people" with brick walls, cold corrugated iron roofs; wooden houses suitable for weather conditions and living habits.

As one of the 6 households receiving the house, Mr. Tenh Lao Ho (born in 1975, Mong ethnic group, De A village) confided that his family is in a particularly difficult situation, having lived in a dilapidated house for many years; his children also had to drop out of school early. "Now that we have a new, solid house, the whole family feels more secure, can focus on raising livestock and building a more fulfilling life," Mr. Ho said emotionally.

Sharing the same happiness and motivation to "settle down and make a living" as Mr. Tenh Lao Ho are the families of Mrs. Song Thi Vang, Mr. Vi Van Toi, Mrs. Lo Thi Duong, Mrs. Phang Thi Chay, and Mr. Vi Van Manh.

At the inauguration and handover ceremony, Colonel Pham Thanh Vuong - Head of the CAND Ceremonial Delegation, the unit hosting the program, shared that the new houses will be a solid foundation for families to stabilize their lives, feel secure in working and developing the economy .

According to Colonel Vuong, the 6 "Great Solidarity" houses awarded in Long Phien commune ( Son La ) are an activity responding to the emulation movement "Joining hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses" and promoting the spirit of "mutual love and support" of the People's Public Security force in general and the local police force in particular for people in border and mountainous areas.

At the same time, it is a practical activity to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the People's Public Security Traditional Day and the 20th anniversary of the National Day for National Security Protection.

On this occasion, representatives of the leaders of the units under the Mobile Police Command also presented 5 televisions to the families. This is a meaningful gift from Lieutenant General Pham Quoc Cuong, Hero of the People's Armed Forces, former Commander of Mobile Police to the people.

These meaningful social security activities have continued to strengthen the bonds between the People's Public Security Forces and the people in the border areas. In particular, the "homes" and donated resources have contributed to the aspiration of "settling down", opening up a brighter and more sustainable future for the ethnic minorities in the difficult areas of the country.

Also in the program, the delegation visited and presented gifts to Chieng Tuong Border Guard Station; presented gifts to Long Phieng Commune People's Committee; presented 50 gifts to policy families, people with revolutionary contributions; households in difficult circumstances; and poor students who have overcome difficulties.

The delegation presented two RO water purifiers and 35 scholarships to two local primary schools; presented a zero-dong booth to the Commune Youth Union; and participated in supporting people affected by storm No. 3 in Son La province. The total value of mobilized and donated resources was over 450 million VND.
