Ba Chuc is a place associated with history, having suffered much pain during the war. Today, this land once again witnesses the presence of soldiers, but in a different form: They do not carry guns and bullets, but bring faith and joy to the people through practical work.
The 2km long residential road connecting An Binh with An Hoa B has long been a dirt road, dusty in the sun and muddy in the rain. For generations, people have long wished for a solid road for convenient travel, study and transport of goods. Therefore, when hearing that the K93 soldiers would join the commune government in building the road, joy spread throughout the village.
Mr. Chau Huong, 62 years old, a resident of An Binh hamlet, emotionally shared: “People here have been used to the difficult travel situation for many years. Now that the army has come to help, everyone is excited. With the new road, students can go to school with less difficulty, and local agricultural products can be transported more easily. We are very grateful to the army.”

As planned, on September 25 and 26, Team K93 mobilized 50 officers and soldiers to support the locality, with trucks full of materials and determination in the hearts of soldiers.
Lieutenant Colonel Le Van Sang, Political Commissar of the Provincial Military Command, said: “The construction of the local road in Ba Chuc commune is not only a simple traffic project, but also a bridge connecting the military and the people, a way for the armed forces to fulfill their responsibilities as the Army's rear. This is also an opportunity to educate and train officers and soldiers, especially the young generation, to appreciate and share difficulties with the people.”
In particular, through this specific and practical work, the people have more trust and attachment to the army. During breaks, many elderly people took the opportunity to tell officers and soldiers about their memories of the time of bombs and bullets, and locations where the remains of martyrs were suspected to have not been found. This is valuable information, contributing to helping Team K93 more easily search for and collect martyrs' remains in the area.
Under the golden October sun, each member of Team K93 enthusiastically mixed concrete, leveled the soil, and pushed carts of sand. |
Those words were realized in each specific action. Under the golden sunshine of October, each group of soldiers enthusiastically mixed concrete, leveled the soil, and pushed carts of sand. Sweat beaded on their foreheads, their shirts soaked their backs, but everyone's faces shone with joy. Interspersed with the smiles of the locals, their hands clasped tightly, together creating meaningful works.
Corporal Doan Thanh Hien (from O Lam commune) shared: “This is the first time I have participated in a large-scale activity to help people. Seeing the excitement of the people, I feel that the effort I put in was worth it. We get to live closer to the people, understand them better, and are even more proud to wear the soldier's uniform.”
Not only in their diligent footsteps on the new dirt road, the image of the soldier is also present in every simple gesture. That is when they carry baskets of stones with the locals, when they help the elderly through the bumpy road, when they give their drinking water to the children watching. Every small detail contributes to portraying more clearly the qualities of Uncle Ho's soldiers in peacetime.
In particular, Team K93 is famous for its mission of searching for and collecting martyrs' remains across battlefields. Participating in the construction of a residential road in Ba Chuc is therefore even more meaningful: On the land that once bore the footprints of comrades in the past, today the soldiers continue to sow the seeds of life and build trust.
Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ba Chuc Commune, Huynh Hoai Han, expressed: “We really appreciate the support of the armed forces. The army not only performs well in national defense tasks, but also always stands side by side with the locality in the cause of building new rural areas. This activity further strengthens the solidarity between the army and the people, helping the commune to move forward more firmly.”
Late in the afternoon, when the last batches of concrete were completed, the new road gradually appeared. No longer the familiar muddy path, the smooth concrete road opened up before the eyes of the people, like a promise of a changed life.
The firm handshakes and lingering glances between soldiers and people left an unforgettable impression. The children's laughter echoed on the new road, the smooth rolling of vehicles all seemed to be proof of the results of unity.
Lieutenant Colonel Tran Van Thao, Deputy Captain of Team K93, emotionally said: “Our greatest joy is seeing the people happy. This road not only connects the two hamlets, but also connects the hearts of the military and civilians closer. We consider this a gift of gratitude to the heroic land of Ba Chuc.”
From the story in Ba Chuc, it can be clearly seen that the solidarity between the army and the people is always a great strength in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland. The roads, bridges, and houses of love that the army contributed to build not only have material significance, but also foster confidence and arouse the desire to rise up in each rural area.
The residential roads in An Binh and An Hoa B not only help people travel conveniently, but also open up reliable bridges for people to share information related to the tombs and remains of martyrs. That companionship further motivates Team K93 to successfully complete the task of "paying tribute to the past, for the future".
