Carrying out the task of building defense works on the sea and islands, officers and soldiers of Brigade 83 encountered many difficulties such as: Units and construction sites operated for a long time in many different directions and areas; the Brigade's organizational structure had many fluctuations; vehicles and technical equipment had degraded over many years of operation, and synchronization was not high... Captain Tran Dinh Vu, Political Commissar of Battalion 886, said: “Although we operate independently and far from the Brigade headquarters, we proactively do a good job of political education, especially educating youth union members to grasp their assigned responsibilities and tasks. The Battalion organizes many sports and cultural activities, building a healthy cultural environment to arouse the spirit of responsibility, initiative, and creativity of the youth. Thanks to that, youth union members are always active, overcome difficulties, and compete to complete their tasks well.”

Youth of the 83rd Naval Engineering Brigade overcame difficulties to successfully complete the task of building military works.

At construction sites, officers and soldiers of the Brigade often have to work in harsh climatic, hydrological, geological conditions, difficult terrain, and high risk of occupational safety. Promoting competition in performing tasks, officers and youth union members have participated in transporting and transferring tens of thousands of tons of materials and goods of all kinds, building tunnels, trenches, and combat fortifications, and successfully completing many difficult and dangerous tasks.

Senior Lieutenant Nguyen Phu Loi, Assistant for Mass Work of Brigade 83, said: "Along with the construction of military projects, the Brigade's youth also participate in searching for and handling bombs, mines, and dangerous explosives in many provinces, cities, and on islands, ensuring safety for people and workers in the areas, as well as ensuring safe site clearance for military units."

Promoting the emulation movement "Army competes in innovation and digital transformation" and "Digital education for the people", the youth of Brigade 83 has synchronously deployed many specific solutions with diverse and practical content and forms. Cadres and youth union members actively study and update their knowledge through two forms of learning on the Military network and through QiMe software. Along with that, the youth union branches create favorable conditions for union members and youth to study and self-study information technology and foreign languages, contributing to improving skills when using social networks, ensuring information security and network security.

With the motto "those who know teach those who don't, those who know a lot teach those who know little about digital transformation", the knowledge and skills in digital technology of officers and soldiers in the entire Brigade are gradually improved, serving professional work well.

In order to welcome the grassroots congress, the youth of Brigade 83 has promoted their internal strength, creating a propaganda painting using oil paint, 14m long and 3m wide, in front of the main gate of the Brigade. The propaganda painting shows the characteristics and traditions of the unit, depicting the image of a Navy engineer soldier.

Directly participating in the construction of the propaganda painting, Private Nguyen Huu Do, a soldier of Battalion 885, excitedly said: “We constructed the project to welcome the congress in hot weather, so the cadres and youth union members had a hard time. However, recognizing the significance of building the propaganda painting, we overcame the difficulties and competed to complete the project ahead of schedule. I am very honored and proud to participate in the construction of this project.”

The Youth Brigade builds and takes care of flower gardens, ornamental plants and constructs many works to welcome the grassroots youth congress.

Along with the Oil Painting, the Brigade's youth also completed many projects such as: A model of a permanent house on Truong Sa archipelago; a youth road from gate A to gate B with a new fence system with the Navy and Engineering Corps badges; rows of trees, lawns; sports fields... The projects not only affirm the solidarity, efforts and vanguard of the youth in activities but also demonstrate the determination of the Brigade's officers and soldiers in the cause of protecting the sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland.

The activities of the 83rd Brigade's youth have been creating an atmosphere of competition and excitement, raising awareness of responsibility and solidarity, building the will and determination to strive to overcome all difficulties and hardships, and excellently complete assigned tasks.
