Each person has a task to ensure that the unit's vegetable garden always has a continuous supply of vegetables and fruits, preventing the land from being left fallow or the vegetables from becoming overripe. Captain Dao Trong Tiem, Deputy Battalion Commander of Battalion 7, shared: "Due to the characteristics of the soil, which is mainly clay and acidic, the soil is as hard as rock in the dry season and accumulates in muddy puddles in the rainy season. To care for the vegetable garden, we have the soldiers cut grass, clear garbage, and use water hyacinth to compost and improve the soil; we mix in fertile soil and properly treat pathogens before planting seedlings. The care and irrigation process is carried out according to the instructions of the Logistics and Technical Department to ensure the garden and trellises are always green and healthy, yielding high productivity."

The area where Regiment 3 is stationed is quite high, so water shortages are common during the dry season. To overcome this, the Regiment has organized the digging of ponds to store water and built reservoirs to retain water from the rainy season; directed the logistics and technical department to develop seasonal farming and livestock plans, selecting vegetable varieties suitable for the weather, climate, and soil, implementing staggered planting, and changing the crop structure accordingly; strictly implemented disease prevention and control measures; and utilized and improved vacant land to plant fruit trees suitable for the soil, creating a green, clean, and beautiful environment that yields high economic efficiency and ensures food safety.
Currently, all battalions and companies under the Regiment have thriving vegetable gardens, papaya, banana, and guava orchards… The Regiment also has a timber plantation. The unit's centralized agricultural area has been invested in with a high-tech greenhouse system to grow even vegetables that are difficult to cultivate during the rainy season.

In its planning, the Regiment arranged gardens, ponds, and livestock pens in a continuous, self-contained system, utilizing water and surplus products while facilitating care, animal husbandry, and ensuring environmental hygiene within the unit.
In addition, the Regiment regularly organizes competitions such as "Regular, Safe, and High-Quality Dining Halls and Kitchens Linked to Agricultural Production Models," and "Excellent Units in Troop Feeding and Good Supply Management"... Through these competitions, the spirit of self-reliance, self-improvement, and creativity of the units is fostered, aiming for 100% of units to have dining halls that meet the standards of "Excellent Troop Feeding and Good Supply Management." By the first six months of 2025, the Regiment aims for 100% of its units to have dining halls that meet the standards of "Excellent Troop Feeding and Good Supply Management"...
