Deputy Prime Minister: Prioritize investment in the country's number 1 specialized school

Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long requested to prioritize investment of resources and adequate funding so that the High School for the Gifted in Natural Sciences can be worthy of being the number 1 specialized school in the country.

Today, October 4, at the National Convention Center, Hanoi National University held a ceremony to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the General Specialized School tradition and the 15th anniversary of the establishment of the High School for Gifted Students in Natural Sciences . During the event, Director of Hanoi National University Hoang Minh Son proposed that the Government and the Ministry of Education and Training have outstanding support policies for specialized schools within universities.

According to Associate Professor Hoang Minh Son, the birth of the first specialized math class of the General Math Block 60 years ago was like sowing the first seeds for a model of "training talents". From this model, specialized schools and specialized classes across the country were formed and developed.

In 2010, the High School for Natural Sciences was established and continued the previous 45-year tradition, increasingly affirming its reputation.

However, the new context has posed new requirements and challenges for education and training, especially talent training. The emergence of Resolution No. 71-NQ/TW of the Politburo on breakthroughs in education and training development is an unprecedented opportunity. Hanoi National University will continue to direct and provide comprehensive support so that the High School for Natural Sciences continues to affirm its pioneering role in innovation.

Associate Professor Hoang Minh Son recommended that the Government and the Ministry of Education and Training soon have outstanding support mechanisms and policies for specialized high schools affiliated with universities, linked to the national strategy on developing high-quality human resources, especially in the fields of technology, artificial intelligence and innovation.

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long also agreed to create conditions for the High School for Natural Sciences to continue to develop, and requested the Ministry of Education and Training to have solutions to innovate the model of the High School for Natural Sciences in a broad and deep direction, creating a basis and foundation for the system of specialized high schools to develop.

The Ministry of Education and Training and the Hanoi National University need to research and develop a project to discover, train and nurture young Vietnamese talents; nurture and train talents from high school to doctoral level. Prioritize adequate investment so that the High School for the Gifted in Natural Sciences is worthy of being the number 1 high school in the country.
