An Giang still has 277 fishing boats with expired registration, inspection, and fishing licenses.

The Department of Agriculture and Environment of An Giang province has issued a notice requiring owners of fishing vessels 12 meters or longer that are missing to re-register their fishing vessels and restore their fishing license quotas.

According to Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of An Giang province, Quach Van Toan, through review and verification, as of July 7, there were 277 fishing vessels of 12m or more missing in the province, including fishing vessels with expired fishing vessel technical safety certificates; fishing licenses that have not been issued or have expired; fishing vessels violating foreign waters; and fishing vessels that do not have the owner's citizen identification number to identify the fishing vessel.

In order to effectively manage fishing vessels, find solutions to overcome the European Commission's yellow card warning and deregister fishing vessels according to the provisions of Clause b, Point 1, Article 72, Fisheries Law 2017 on "Fishing vessels missing after one year from the date of official announcement in the media", the Provincial Department of Agriculture and Environment announces and requests relevant organizations and individuals to implement the following contents:

Within 1 year from the date of issuance of this notice, ship owners are requested to contact the Department of Fisheries - Fisheries Control of An Giang or directly contact the Public Administration Service Center of An Giang province (Ms. Nguyen Thi Ut, directly at the Reception and Results Department, Department of Agriculture and Environment, phone number 0942.779.929) for instructions on re-registering fishing vessels and issuing fishing licenses, restoring fishing license quotas.

After the above time, if the ship owners do not carry out the procedures for registering fishing vessels and granting fishing licenses as prescribed, the Provincial Department of Agriculture and Environment will proceed to deregister the fishing vessel in the national fishing vessel registry.

The provincial Department of Agriculture and Environment requests the People's Committees of communes, wards and special zones in the province to direct specialized departments and offices to coordinate in implementing the posting of the above list of fishing vessels and have solutions to notify fishing vessel owners to implement.
