An Giang promotes innovation and digital transformation

On the morning of May 29, in Long Xuyen City, the Union of Science and Technology Associations of An Giang in coordination with the Department of Science and Technology organized a scientific workshop with the theme "Efforts to make a breakthrough in science - technology development, innovation and digital transformation in An Giang province".

At the workshop, the reports presented showed that the province has made many advances in applying technology, especially in the fields of agriculture , management and education.

By 2024, the digital economy will account for 5.99% of GRDP. However, the province's local innovation index (PII) remains low, investment resources are scattered, and the proportion of small businesses with a systematic digital transformation strategy is limited.

The presentations at the workshop revolved around the following contents: Supporting small and medium enterprises in digital transformation, developing STEM human resources, applying artificial intelligence in agriculture, biotechnology, connecting intellectuals, and smart tourism.

The workshop proposed many policies to improve the PII index, develop the "open innovation" mechanism, strengthen the three-party linkage (state - enterprise - university) and socialize technology investment.

This is a practical activity contributing to the implementation of Action Program 32-CTr/TU of the Provincial Party Executive Committee and Plan 181/KH-UBND of the province, towards building a knowledge-based economy in An Giang.
