Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Loan, Deputy Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department; Mr. Phan Van Kien, Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Technology; Dr. Doan Ngoc Pha, Chairman of the An Giang Union of Science and Technology Associations; along with representatives from institutes, universities, technology enterprises, and delegates from 11 districts, towns, and cities attended the event.

At the workshop, the presentations showed that the province has made significant progress in applying technology, especially in the fields of agriculture , management, and education.

In 2024, the digital economy accounted for 5.99% of GRDP. However, the province's Local Innovation Index (PII) remained low, investment resources were scattered, and the percentage of small businesses with well-structured digital transformation strategies was limited.

The presentations at the workshop revolved around the following topics: supporting small and medium-sized enterprises in digital transformation, developing STEM human resources, applying artificial intelligence in agriculture, biotechnology, networking intellectual teams, and smart tourism.

The workshop proposed several policies aimed at improving the PII index, developing an "open innovation" mechanism, strengthening the tripartite linkage (state - enterprises - universities), and socializing investment in technology.

This is a practical activity that contributes to the implementation of the Provincial Party Committee's Action Program 32-CTr/TU and the Provincial People's Committee's Plan 181/KH-UBND, aiming to build a knowledge-based economy in An Giang.
