Training on "Journalistic Editing Skills in a Convergent Newsroom"

Chairman of the An Giang Provincial Journalists Association, Tan Van Ngu, stated: “The converged newsroom model is becoming an inevitable development trend. In this context, the role of modern journalists is crucial. Besides being proficient in professional skills, political integrity, and professional ethics, journalists also need editing skills for a multi-platform converged newsroom, meeting the demands for fast, accurate, and effective information in the modern journalistic environment where social media is developing rapidly. Therefore, organizing this training course is very practical.”

Over two days, December 18th and 19th, 37 trainees received training and guidance from instructors at the Center for Journalism Professional Training ( Vietnam Journalists Association ) on the following topics: Convergent and multi-platform newsrooms; multi-platform in local newspapers - specifics and solutions; skills in using AI and multi-platform journalism.

From the training content, trainees will gain a better understanding of the operational process of a multimedia newsroom, contributing to improved skills in editing content and images, controlling information according to mainstream news trends; enhancing editing skills, sharing experiences in selecting content, and processing news and articles in a multimedia newsroom…
