During the period 2023-2025, the workers' movement, civil servants, and employees, as well as the trade union activities of An Giang province , achieved comprehensive results and many outstanding accomplishments. The trade union continuously innovated its content and methods of operation, enhancing its proactiveness, flexibility, and creativity, and increasingly fulfilling its role in representing and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of its members and employees. Over 58.3 billion VND in support was provided to 116,579 union members and employees in businesses experiencing reduced orders.
Welfare work continues to be a highlight with many innovative models, meeting the needs of nearly 25,000 union members and workers who have received "Union Meals"; over 129,000 union members and workers have benefited from welfare cooperation agreements (zero-cost markets; low-cost supermarkets...). Free health check-ups for union members and workers, especially female workers, have received attention. Collective dialogue and negotiation have been improved. Training and professional development for cadres have been carried out regularly, with 137 training courses, creating opportunities for over 23,500 cadres to improve their knowledge, skills, and expertise.
Following the merger of provincial-level administrative units and the restructuring of trade union activities, the workforce in An Giang province has significantly decreased from 71 full-time officials to 24, many of whom work far from home. However, trade union activities in An Giang remain stable thanks to flexible and innovative approaches. Trade unions at all levels have promoted the application of technology and innovated their methods of engaging with businesses, resulting in the recruitment of nearly 43,560 new members and the establishment of 370 grassroots trade unions, including 338 in private enterprises with 20 or more employees. To date, the province has 116,002 union members out of a total of 124,317 workers, civil servants, and employees, operating in 785 grassroots trade unions and professional associations.

- Reporter: What are the demands placed on the An Giang Trade Union in the current context, sir?
- Mr. Do Tran Thinh: In the context of complex and unpredictable developments in the world and the region, the labor market is being impacted, and the demand for innovation is increasing. The An Giang Trade Union needs to continue to strongly promote its role in representing, caring for, and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of its members and workers in a more proactive, timely, and effective manner. First and foremost, caring for union members and workers must continue to be a central focus in all activities, with the principle that "wherever workers face difficulties, the Trade Union organization will be there to support them." Care programs such as "Tet Reunion," "Workers' Month," "Trade Union Meal," welfare programs, "Trade Union Shelter," etc., must be implemented in an increasingly practical and creative way. At the same time, cultural and sports activities and support models specifically for female workers should be strengthened.
Trade unions must improve the quality of dialogue and collective bargaining; proactively understand the situation of enterprises to support members when there are fluctuations in employment and income, contributing to building harmonious, stable, and progressive labor relations. The context of digital transformation requires trade unions to innovate their methods of operation in membership management, communication, administration, and movement organization. Digital transformation is not just about digitizing paperwork, but it is an opportunity to increase the effectiveness of interaction with workers, while also requiring trade union officials to be professional, capable, knowledgeable in law, and possess practical skills.
Overall, the current task requires the An Giang Trade Union to both strongly innovate in organizational structure and implementation methods while maintaining its responsibility to "care for and protect," continuing to be a reliable support for union members and workers.

- Reporter: To enable the An Giang Trade Union to achieve even stronger breakthroughs in the new phase, what key tasks and solutions will the Standing Committee of the Provincial Federation of Labor focus on?
- Mr. Do Tran Thinh: With the expectation of creating a truly significant shift in both thinking and action in the new phase, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Labor Union is resolutely implementing three key tasks. Firstly, improving the quality of representation and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of workers. We are strengthening dialogue, monitoring policy implementation, expanding the network of occupational safety and health inspectors, and proposing investment in trade union facilities in the Binh Hoa and Thanh Loc industrial zones to improve the living and working conditions of workers.
Secondly, the union should focus on providing more practical and comprehensive care for its members' lives. It should concentrate on expanding member welfare programs, providing credit and social security support, and paying more attention to female workers, vulnerable workers, and groups affected by socio-economic fluctuations. Thirdly, it should strongly innovate its operational methods and improve organizational quality, with a focus on promoting digital transformation in management, administration, membership development, and building strong grassroots unions; enhancing the effectiveness of communication and creating widespread impact among workers, employees, and laborers.
All of the above objectives are not just specific numbers and targets, but also strategic commitments to workers and society; they serve as a guiding principle for the actions of the An Giang Trade Union in the new term. With the motto "Unity - Democracy - Discipline - Innovation - Development," the An Giang Trade Union is determined to create significant changes, improve welfare, enhance the lives of workers, and make positive contributions to the sustainable development of the province in the new period.
