According to Mr. Dang Minh Nhut, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the commune, the number of elected representatives to the Commune People's Council for the 2026-2031 term is 22, and the number of nominated candidates is 37, all ensuring the correct structure, composition, and proportion as prescribed. The organizing unit strictly followed the three-round consultation process as stipulated by law; clearly demonstrating a democratic and objective spirit and carefully considering the results of the opinions and trust of voters residing in the area for each case.
Through a review, the entire commune has 29,717 voters. The Commune People's Committee has completed the voter registration process and publicly posted the list at the Commune People's Committee headquarters and at public polling stations. The local authorities widely disseminated the information so that people could check and verify the list, promptly reporting any errors (if any), ensuring citizens' rights and obligations in participating in the election. From now until election day, the commune's Fatherland Front system will continue to strengthen supervision of voter outreach meetings and election campaigns; review facilities and conditions for organizing polling stations; and coordinate to ensure absolute security and order at polling stations. On election day, Fatherland Front officials will directly participate in supervising the entire process to ensure democracy, objectivity, and compliance with the law.
Strengthening propaganda and promoting democracy.
The People's Committee of An Thanh commune also directed the issuance of plans for propaganda, inspection, supervision, and citizen reception; clearly assigned responsibilities to each member in charge of the area, regularly monitored the grassroots level, promptly guided and resolved difficulties, and ensured that all preparatory steps were carried out strictly and in accordance with the law.
Mr. Nguyen Van Do, Head of the Party Building Committee of the commune's Party Committee and Head of the Information and Propaganda Steering Subcommittee, said: "Propaganda work has been widely implemented with many flexible forms such as people's meetings, branch and group meetings, the broadcasting system, billboards, slogans, and integrating patriotic emulation campaigns and movements. Emphasis is placed on visual propaganda and promotion, on radio broadcasts, the electronic information portal, and social media to disseminate information before, during, and after the election. The content focuses on the purpose and significance of the election; the rights and obligations of voters; the criteria for representatives; the consultation process and the nomination of candidates… Through this, it contributes to raising awareness, creating consensus, and fostering enthusiasm among the people."
Amidst the excitement of preparing for the nation's major event, Ms. Tran Thi Hong, from Phuoc Hoa B hamlet, shared: "In the past few days, wherever I go, I hear propaganda about the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and representatives to the People's Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term. I know this is a very important day, and I have researched the biographies of the candidates in the commune to make an appropriate choice."
With a high sense of responsibility, proactiveness, and determination from the entire political system, we are confident that the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and representatives to the People's Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term in An Thanh commune will be a great success; selecting outstanding representatives with excellent political qualities, ethics, capabilities, and prestige, worthy of representing the will, aspirations, and right to self-governance of the people. This will contribute to building an increasingly clean and strong local government, meeting the requirements of development in the new era.
