On the morning of September 23 (Vietnam time), in New York, the United States, General Secretary and President To Lam and his wife, along with a high-ranking Vietnamese delegation, attended the ceremony to celebrate the first anniversary of the Vietnam-US Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and towards the 30th anniversary of Vietnam-US diplomatic relations.
The Unity Through Art program - Connecting through art is part of the event taking place on the morning of September 23 (Vietnam time) with the participation of artists representing various countries.
An Tran and San Trinh were given the responsibility of representing Vietnamese music and culture to perform at this program.
In front of General Secretary and President To Lam and his wife, along with the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation and US congressmen, two young artists played guitar and saxophone to the Northern folk song Beo dat may troi . Notably, An Tran wore the ao dai - the traditional Vietnamese costume - when performing.
Sharing with VietNamNet reporters, the two young artists were emotional and proud. They chose to perform the song "Bèo đat Mây trôi " - one of Vietnam's classic folk songs, familiar to both of them so it didn't take much time to practice.
"Every time we practice together, we feel and have different emotions about the work. We are very happy and proud of the success of this performance. We hope that in the near future, no matter where we are, we will once again have the opportunity to serve music to the Vietnamese people," said San Trinh and An Tran.
At the end of the program, the two young artists were honored to have General Secretary and President To Lam and his wife shake hands and take souvenir photos.
