Impressive ceremony honoring the ancestors of all crafts in Hue.

On the afternoon of May 5, 2023, at Tu Tuong Park on the banks of the Perfume River in Hue , the Organizing Committee of the Hue Traditional Craft Festival 2023 held the Ceremony of Paying Homage to the Ancestors of All Crafts and the Procession to Honor Vietnamese Traditional Craftspeople and Villages. This was one of the main programs of the Festival; organized solemnly and richly in Hue's rituals and culture, it left many beautiful impressions on the viewers.

This traditional ceremony commemorates the contributions of our ancestors, those who founded the traditional crafts of the Vietnamese people, and also prays for good fortune, development, and prosperity in business and production. Following the ceremony is a procession honoring artisans and traditional craft villages, with the participation of representative artisans and craftspeople from Hue and other craft villages nationwide. The author submitted this photo series to the "Happy Vietnam" photo and video contest, organized by the Ministry of Information and Communications .

Through ancestral worship ceremonies and processions honoring traditional crafts, the people can appreciate the essence of these crafts, remember their ancestors, preserve and protect traditional crafts, and enhance their spiritual and material value, enriching Hue's cultural, tourism, and economic activities. In 2024, the "Happy Vietnam" photo and video contest will continue to be organized by the Ministry of Information and Communications in coordination with the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists on the website. https://happy.vietnam.vn is open to all Vietnamese citizens and foreigners aged 15 and above. The competition aims to honor individuals and groups with positive informational products that make practical contributions to promoting a beautiful image of Vietnam to the world. Through this, it helps people at home, overseas Vietnamese, and international friends access authentic images of Vietnam, its people, its achievements in ensuring human rights, and working towards a happy Vietnam. Each competition category (photos and videos) has the following prizes and prize values: – 1 Gold Medal: 70,000,000 VND – 2 Silver Medals: 20,000,000 VND – 3 Bronze Medals: 10,000,000 VND – 10 Consolation Prizes: 5,000,000 VND – 1 Most Voted entry: 5,000,000 VND.
