Tourists enthusiastically participate in the night tour with lanterns.

The first stop is the Lower Temple – associated with the legend of Mother Au Co giving birth to a hundred eggs, from which a hundred sons hatched – the origin of the Vietnamese ethnic community, and the meaning of brotherhood also stems from there. In the soft light and the shimmering, mystical lanterns, the space here becomes even more solemn, reminding everyone of the sacred meaning of the word "brotherhood".

Next, visitors move up to Trung Temple - where the story of Lang Liêu offering sticky rice cakes and steamed rice cakes to his father, the king, to choose a successor to the throne is preserved - a symbol of the principle of "drinking water, remembering the source" of the rice-farming civilization.

Tourists practice the Hung Kings worship ritual at the Upper Temple.

The highlight of the journey is the Upper Temple – where the ancient Hung Kings once offered sacrifices to heaven and earth, praying for national peace and prosperity. In the tranquil night, the rustling of forest leaves, the shimmering candlelight, and the solemn incense and candle offering ceremonies create sacred moments, leaving visitors with profound emotions. The flickering candlelight amidst the Nghia Linh mountains not only illuminates the space but also ignites a deep sense of pride and gratitude towards their ancestors.

The journey concludes at the Well Temple – a shrine dedicated to Princess Tien Dung and Ngoc Hoa. The clear water and serene atmosphere here serve as a gentle pause, helping visitors complete their spiritual journey. Many share that the quiet and profound stillness of the night helps them better appreciate the cultural and historical value of this special complex of relics.

Participating in the night tour for the first time, Ms. Tran Thi Phuong (from Song Lo commune) expressed: “We have visited Hung Temple many times, but this is the first time experiencing it at night. The atmosphere is very quiet and fresh, creating a more solemn and profound impression compared to daytime.”

According to many tourists, night tours are not only a new tourism product but also a different approach to experiencing heritage. Without the noise and crowds, the spiritual space regains its inherent depth, allowing each person to pause, contemplate, and create an invisible thread connecting them to their national roots.

According to Pham Thi Hoang Oanh, Deputy Director of the Hung Temple Historical Relic Area: “The Hung Temple night tour is usually organized before and during the annual festival. We hope that through organizing this night tour, we will contribute to changing the habits and mindset of Vietnamese people who usually only visit Hung Temple during the day; and at the same time, bring tourists a new experience of spiritual tourism, especially the Hung King worshiping belief. Through this tourism product, we contribute to enriching the tourism landscape of the province.”

To prepare for the night tour program, the historical site proactively developed a detailed plan, assigning specific tasks to departments and units; while also focusing on investing in lighting systems, landscape decoration, strengthening security and order, and guiding visitors. Activities such as visiting the Hung Vuong Museum, offering incense at the Upper Temple, and experiencing the cultural space... were organized scientifically , creating a seamless series of experiences.

The Hung Temple night tour creates a highlight that contributes to enriching the province's tourism products.

Introducing night tours not only contributes to diversifying the province's tourism products but also opens up new avenues for cultural and spiritual tourism. In the context of the tourism industry's ongoing transformation and improvement of service quality, experiential products like the Hung Temple night tour are expected to increase attractiveness and extend the length of stay for tourists.

During this year's Hung Kings Commemoration Day - Hung Temple Festival and Ancestral Land Culture and Tourism Week, the night tour promises to be a highlight, contributing to promoting the image of Phu Tho - the ancestral land of the Vietnamese nation - to a large number of domestic and international tourists.
