Impact of storm No. 10: There are still 246 traffic jams on the roads

According to statistics from the Civil Defense Command of the Ministry of Construction, which quickly compiled a report on overcoming the consequences caused by storm No. 10 (Bualoi), as of the morning of October 1, there were still 246 traffic jams on the roads.

In Lao Cai province, there are 25 locations but they are expected to reopen by 4 p.m. this afternoon. Similarly, in Tuyen Quang province, there are 20 locations and they are expected to reopen by 5 p.m. on October 1.

Currently, Thanh Hoa still has a total of 50 flooded and collapsed areas; of which, the National Highway has 30 collapsed areas and local roads have 20 flooded areas. It is expected that traffic will be reopened by 8:00 p.m. tonight.

Nghe An province has 97 flooded and collapsed areas; of which, national highways have 45 collapsed areas; local roads have 47 flooded areas. It is expected that traffic will be reopened by 8:00 p.m. on October 1.

Ha Tinh province also has 10 locations and is expected to reopen at 6:00 p.m. this afternoon. Ninh Binh has 2 locations and is expected to reopen at 1:00 p.m. Cao Bang has 6 locations and is expected to reopen at 6:00 p.m. Son La has 17 locations and is expected to reopen at 7:00 p.m. Hanoi has 20 locations and is expected to reopen at 5:00 p.m.

At flooded and landslide locations, the Road Management Areas and the Department of Construction have directed maintenance contractors to regularly place warning signs and arrange 24/7 traffic controllers. Currently, there is still light rain on national highways, expressways, and provincial roads. The Vietnam Road Administration will continue to update, review, and compile statistics in the next reports.

Regarding the aviation sector, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam informed that due to bad weather in the Hanoi area, Noi Bai International Airport has 63 flights on hold and 47 flights going to alternate airports.
